AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Townsend, amending Ordinance No. 1034, entitled "An Ordinance dividing the City of Port Townsend into wards and repealing all ordinances in conflict therewith" passed by the City Council November 28, 1933. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOV1NSEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Setion 1 of said Ordinance No. 1034 be, and the same 'is hereby, amend ed in the following particular: That the designated area knots as the FIRST. WARD is hereby lessened and the area of th THIRD WARD is hereby increased by the addition to the TIIIRD WARD of Block 136, of the Orig- inal Townsite of the City of Port Townsend. Section 2. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader and be in force and take effect as provided by Law. Passed by the City Council September 15, 1936 Approved by the Mayor September 15, 1936. Attest: George Bangerter, Mayor C. F. Christian, City Clerk. Salary Ordinance. An ordinance to fix the salaries of city elective officers for the 1937-8 term was introduced, and was read in full for the first reading. First and Second Readings. It was moved by Councilman Hutzler and seconded by Coun- cilman Naughton that the first reading be considered the second reading and that the thud reading be.by title only. Upon Roll Call vote all five councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Third Reading and Passage. The Clark road the said ordinance by title only, for the thrid reading whereupon it was moved by Councilman Hirtzler and seconded by Councilman Naughton that said ordinance do now pass. Upon Roll Call vote, all five councilmen pres ent voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Copy of Ordinance. The following is n full, true and correct copy of said Ordinance as passed by the City Council Sept. 15, 1936, approved by the Mayor Sept. 16, 1936, and published in the Port Townsend Leader Sept. 17, 1936, to -wit: O R D I N A N C E N 0. 1 0 6 9. AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, fixing the salaries of the City Treasurer, City Clerk and the City Attorney, for the two-year term of of- fice commencing January let, 1937. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the monthly salaries to be paid to the City Treasurer, City Clerk and the City Attorney for the two-year term of office commencing January 1st, 1937, are hereby fixed as follows:. The City Treasurer, the monthly salary of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). The City Clerk the monthly salary of One Hundred Ten Dollars (U10.00). The City Attorney the monthly salary of Seventy-five Dollars (:�75.00). Section 2. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader, and to take effect and be in force on the First day of January, 1937. Passed by the City Council September 15th, 1936. Approved by the Mayor September 16th, 1936. Attest: George Sangster, mayor C. F. Christian, City Clerk. UITFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS. Thomas Application for Street Lease. Written application from J. Li. Thomas for street leases, was presented and read, as follows: Port Townsend, ash., Sept. 4, 1936. To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Port Townsend, flash., Gentlemen: - Application is hereby made for a renewal for one year, of my leases of the sout ern street ends of Calhoun and Cass Streets, (South of Water Strcet) for the maintengnce of billboards. A payment of $2.00 for each street has been made to the City `'Treasurer. Respectfully submitted, J. M. Thomas. It was moved by Councilman Sather and seconded by Councilman Naughton that the said leases be granted. Motion declared carried.' Welch Application for Street Vacation. Written application for the passage of an ordinance to vacate a part of a street r xir'fitit ey , r - 29 . + was submitted by Lillian E. and George Welch and was presented and road, as follows: Fort Townsend, Washington, September 10, 1936. To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, City of Port Townsend, Washington. Gentlemen:- i The undersigned hereby requests that an ordinance of vacation be entered by your body vacating that part of Fifth Street from the southerly side of 'Vilson Street to the right-0 ay of State Road No. 9. either side of that part of the street sough We are the owners of all property onl to be vacated. At the request of Councilman Bather, the application was referred to the Street Committee for investigation. Repair of City Garage. At the suggestion of Councilman Lafferty, the City Clerk brought up the matter of re- pairing the City Garage and he made the suggestion that a survey be made so that the amount required could be included in the city budget for 1937. It was informally agreed that such action be taken. Traffic Signal Bids Asked. It was moved by Councilman Sather and seconded by Councilman Naughton that the City Cleric be instructed to ask for proposals to install a traffic signal at the intersec- tion of Plater and Taylor Streets, the signal to be fully automatic; an amount approximatin; $95.00 to paid out of this year's budget and the remainder to be paid from 1937 budget funds. Total cost not to exceed $250.00. Upon Roll Call vote, all five councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. MAIN LINE MAINTENANCE. In the matter certain main'; line, -maintenance which the Rational Paper Products Cc had presented to the city for consideration and which had been referred to the Council as a whole, the said items being proposed work on the tunnel at city lake and on the line at Snow Creek, it was moved by Councilman Hutzler and seconded by Councilman Naughton that t I National Paper Products be informed'that the Council n }d rs the proposed work to be reg lar maintenance; that the Paper Company fully accept s" when it took over the moist nance of the pipe line and that under the terms and provisions of the lease, the proposed work is considered an obligation of the Company. - Upon Roll Call vote, all five members of the council present voted in the afflrn tive and motion was declared carried.
