A communication from George D. Hunt, relative to clearing streets, was presented
and read as follows:
Port Townsend, Washington, June 1, 1936
City Council,
Port Townsend, Wash.
Dear Sirs: -
I have recently purchased Blocks 22 and 25 of Pettygrovea 2nd Addition and re=
quest permission to clear the streets surrounding the above blocks to remove a fire hazard
and to make a roadway on said streets. I also request permission to clear a roadway on
Q St, south of Block 40 in Pettygroves.2nd Addition and through Lots 47, 46 and 49 of Cher
ry Park Addition. (These three lots are owned by the City having been purchased for street
purposes.

It was moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilman Hirtzler that the said
application be granted. Upon a roll call vote all four councilmen present voted in the
affirmative and motion was declared carried.
Card of Thanks.
A card of thanks from Harriett Dobbs, Florence Brandeberry and Nan-
nette Kelley, for the floral token from the Councilmen, City officers and employees for the
funeral of their mother, the late Harriett E. Dobbs (City 'Treasurer) was presented, read an
ordered filed.
From Oak Harbor, re Air Carnival.
A communication from Oak harbor, relative to handbill'distribution, was presented
and read, as follows:

gest air show eve to be given in the Northwest and we expect to make it an annual affair.
As a part of our publicity plans, we expect to distribute small circulars from
airplanes and would like to have you grant us permission to drop a few of these over your
town when our plane passes over. I assure you that the matter will be handled in a pro-
fessional way and there will not be enough papers scattered to become a nuisance to any one
The Bureau of Air Commerce regulates such matters closely and it is necessary to
secure your permission before we can carry out the idea. I imagine our plane will make th
trip over the surrounding mainland communities on or about June 15.
May I hear from you at your earliest possible convenience as it is necessary to
present the matter to Washington for their approval.

Communication from the Tacoma Fire Dept. was presented and read, as follows:
NORTIVUEaT FIRL uiLEUZ, Tacoma, Washington, June 17-20, 1936.
To the City Councils of the Northwest:
The Tacoma, -Fire Department has extended an invitation to members of the Fire Departmen
of your city to abbend the annual Northwest Fire College which will be held in Tacoma, June
17, 18, 19,and 20, 1936.
The Northwest Fire College is sponsored by the Washington State Firemen's Association,
comprising practically every paid, part paid and volunteer fire department in the state of
Washington. The. Fire College course covers practically every phase of fire fighting.
Competent instructors have been assigned to explain and emonstrate the standard methods
used in handling fire department egAipment, also, lectures will be given on the following
subjects: Dust explosions; Fire Prevention Activities; Inspections; The State Electric
Code; Arson and other subjects of interest to firemen.
We urge your cooperation in allowing as many men of your'fire deprtment as possible
to attend, inasmuch as the objective of the Fire College is for increased efficiency and
therefore, a direct benefit to the citizens of your city.

REQUISITIONS.
City Attorney:
Requisition from the City Attorney, for
250 envelopes and 250 letter heads, was presented and read and it was moved by Counc-
cilman Hirtzler and seconded by Eouncilman Naughton that the said requisition be granted.
Motion declared carried.
ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS.
Interest on Refund Bonds.
A Resolution authorizing payment and defining the method of payment of interest
on 1911 refund bonds, was presented and read, as follows:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the semi-annual interest due upon Port Townsend Re -fund Bonds,
first issue, be paid by check and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed -to
make such payment of interest to the holders of the bonds upon being satisfied as to:.the
ownership thereof as of July 1, 1936.
Adopted: It was moved by Councilman HArtzler and seconded by Councilman Naughton that
the said resolution be adopted. Upon a roll call vote, all four councilmen present voted
in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
Transfer, to correct error.
A resolution authorizing a transfer of funds to correct error in credit was pre-
sented and read, as follows; I
BE IT RESOLVED that the sum of $25.00 heretofore, by the former City `treasurer, erro-
neously credited to the "Street and Highway Fund" be transferred to "Liquor Act Enforcemoht
Fund", and the City Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized to make such appropriate en-
tries upon the books of his office as to carry out the terms of this resolution.
Adopted: It was moved by Councilman Hirtzler and seconded by Councilman Naughton
that Effe--s-a-0 resolution be adopted. Upon roll c all vote all four councilmen present
voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried.
Eisenbeis Franchise.
In the matter of the Ordinance to grant a wharf franchise to F. W. Eisenbeis, no
action was taken at this session, since there were but four councilmen present; insufficien
under a State statube to act on such matters.
Hooker Complaint:
bar. Hooker, of Irondale, was given permission to address the Counci
and complained about the water service in Trondale in his neighborhood, objecting to full
charges unless given good service. Supt. Green, Water Supt., stated that Hooker was get-

e alight drop in the pressure on that line and that Mr. Baker of the National Paper Product
Company had promised to increase the pressure. The matter was referred to the Committee
on Water and Drainage.
ADJOURNMENT:
Zt was moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilman
Hirtzler that the Council do now adjourn. Upon a voice vote the motion was declared
carried.
