City Engineer Campbell brought up the matter of definitely locating the route of the pipe line to Hadlock and Irondale and urged that a decision be reached this evening so that application could be made to the PilA for permission to make any changed agreed upon by the Council. After some discussion, and no motion or motions being offered, the Mayor referred the matter to the Plater Committee and the City Engineer, to report back, with recommendation , at a meeting of the council to be held Tuesday evening, April 14th, 1936. JEFFERSON STREET 'EATER MAIN. The matter of laying pine on Jefferson Street, from Adams Street to Yonroe Street, was also brought up for discussion, and upon the showing that no consumers are now being served and that future demands for service along the three blocks' above mentioned will be practically nil, it was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the said three blocks, that is to say, on Jefferson Street from Ad = Street to Monroe Street be eliminated and stricken frarthe original plans. notion declared carried. TEAR GAS Ec.UIPYENT DISPLAYED. With the consent of the Council, L;r. B. C. Drivius, representing the Lake Erie Chemical Co., displayed and demonstrated the tear gas equipment produced by the said company, the display being very interesting. Insurance for Police Car. Councilman Naughton brought up the matter of placing insurance on the police car, but inasmuch as no provision had been made in the 1936 budget for funds to cover same, no action was taken. ADJOURNMENT. Upon motion of Councilman Lafferty, seconded by Councilman Lammers, the Council voted to adjourn. The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, met in regular session this 14th day of April, 1936, at 7:30 o'clock P.L., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Mayor George Bangerter presiding. ROLL CALL. Upon Roll Call there were present Lieyor George Bangerter, City Cleric C. F. Christian, and Councilmen H. L. Hirtzler, V. S. Lafferty, 71m. Lammers Sr., and Paul H. Bathe . MINUTES OF APRIL 7/36. It was moved by Councilman Hirtzler and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the reading of the minutes.of the regular session of April 7, 1936, be deferred to the next regular session of the City Council. Motion declared carried. No Business Filed Under `,ertain Headings. The City Clerk reported that no business had been filed with the Clerk under the headings of Bills and Cladms, Reports of Officers, Reports of Standing Committees, Communi- cations, Requisitions, or Ordinances and "esolutions; which brought the order of business up to Unfinished and New Business. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS. Hadlock-Irondale water ;chin Location. City Engineer Campbell, reporting for himself and the Plater Committee, to who vras referred the matter of choosing a location for the replacement of the Hadlock-Irondale cll Supply Main, recommended that the pipe line be re-laid along the Chimacum- Ludlow highway. Along Highway'Appr.oved. It was then moved by Councilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the recommedation to lay the pipe line along the Chimacum-Ludlow highway be approved. Upon Roll Call vote, all four Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declare carried. Change of Location Order. It was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the City Engineer be authorized and instructed to make application to the PWA for the necessary Change of Location Order. Motion put and declared carried. PEARSON STREET LEASE RENn^;:ED. Arvid Pearson made application for a renewal for one year, of the lease of Prosper Street between Jefferson and �-ashington Streets, and submitted the City Lreasureres receipt showing that the rental had been paid in advance. It was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the said lease be renewed for one year. Motion declared carried. After some discussion it vras moved by Councilman gather that the matter be referred to the ';later Committee for a thorough investigation and report and recommendation. The motion received no second, but the Mayor so referred the question to the 1,7ater Committee. ADJOURNMENT.
