Gentlemen:
In accordance with your instructions I have checked the employees each day on
the contract for Additions and Betterments to, and Replacements of Olympic Gravity Water
System and find they are all local men, with exception of�the Trenching Lachine operator,
Pipe Layer and Bulldozer Operator.

The report of the chief of Police, in writing, showing, that during the month of
February, 1936, five arrests were made by that department; three for Drunk andDisorderly
and two for plain Drunk, m d that total police fines in the gross amount of $40.00 were
assessed. The said report was ordered filed.

Fire hydrant for school
The following communication wqs received from School District IJo. 43:
Port Townsend, Washington
February 28th, 1936.
To the Honorable Ilayor and City Council,
Port Townsend, Washington.
Gentlemen:
Your honorable body is hereby p:titioned to install a hydrant on our school
property at a point to be determined by your City Engineer in conjunction with your
Chief of the Fire Department. lUe agree to open the ditch and pay for coat of hydrant.
71e wish to call attention to the lack of fire hydrants near the school and feel
that the matter should be corrected by installation of a hydrant at an effective point
to better safe -guard the lives of our school children and property.
