Minutes of Regular Session of February 4/36 continued.
Librarian's Annual Report:
A copy of the Annual Rep¢ t of the Librarian, Miss E. A. Rothschild, made to the
Library Board of trustees, was presented and ordered filed for reference.
The following is a copy of the said report, towit:

Report for 1935.
To the Chairmnn and •":embers of the Library Board:
I I hereby submit a summary of the work of the Librnry for 1935, Excepting the eight
legal holidays, we were open every day during the year.
Improvements include a new double book case, placed in the fiction section, necessary
to take care of books added since library shelves were made in the building in 1913.
The special city election to raise necessary amount by levy, to carry on the library
during 1936, occurred Sept. 24, resulting in a vote of 641 for, and 98 against.
Total circulation as follows:
Juvenile non-fiction 1368 Adult non-fiction 3381
Juvenile fiction 6231 Adult fiction 11922
Total 7599 Total _T5 T07
20B books added by purchase and donation, were:
Juvenile non-fiction, 13 purchused Adult non-fiction 35 purchased

Withdrawn were 7 adult books and 8 ,juvenile.
At the beginning of 1935 there were 6139 volumes on hand, 4719 adult amd 1420 juvenile.
we now have 4843 adult and 1489 ,juvenile, total, 6332. 168 borrowers were added during the
year, 125 adult and 43 juvenile.

RESOLUTION FOR HEARING ON VACATION.
A Resolution setting a date for a hearing on the said petition for vacation:of certain
Streets was then introduced and read; and "it"'was:moved by Councilmen Hirtzler and seconded
by Councilman De Leo that the said resolution be.adopted; Uopn Roll Call vote, all seven
;ouncilmen voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
Copy of Resolution:
'Dhe following is a full, true, and correct copy of the said reso-
lution as presented and read, and duly -adopted by the City Council, to -wit:
RESOLUTION.
School District No. 43, Jefferson County, Washington, by and through its Board of Di-
rectors, having filed with the City Council its petition seeking the vacation of the follow-
ing described parts of certain streets in the Webster and D. T. Denny Additions to the City
of Port Tovrnsend, to -wit:
That part of "D" Street from the easterly side of Fir Street to the westerly side of
Chestnut Street;
That part of "E" Street from the easterly side of Fir Street to the westerly side of
Chestnut Street;
That part of Maple Street from the northerly side of "D" Street to the southerly side
of "F" Street.
It is ordered, that the hearing on said petition be and the same is hereby fixed at
Tuesday, the 3rd day of March, 1936, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., or as soon thereafter as the mat-
ter can be heard, in the Council Chambers of the City Council in the City of Port Townsend,
when and where any person or persons may appear and be heard either for or against said
proposition.
It is further ordered, that the City Clerk give notice hereof for the time and in the
manner provided by law.
Adopted by the city Council Feb. 4, 1936.

A communication from Mayor Bangerter, announcing the appointment of Mrs. 11. L.
Hughes as a member of the Board of trustees for the Public Library, was presented and read
as follows;

Be advised that I have reappointed Mrs. J. L. Hughes to succeed herself on the
Library Board in accordance with the wishes of that body.

It was moved by Councilman DeLeo and seconded by Councilman Hirtzler that the said ap-
pointment be confirmed. Upon. Roll Call vote, all six Councilmen present voted in the af-
firmative and motion was declared carried.
Petition for Plater Main.
Petition for installation of a water main, signed by A. A.
Getchman,et al, was presented and read as follows: (not dated)
To the Honorable City Council:- We hereby make application to have the water line extends
from 53rd Street (the Mnyhugh place) up to 57th Street (the Ruby place) a matter of four
blocks up Landes Street. This would bring in at least five more patrons and give us fire
protection.
