Gentlemen: I would like to draw your attention to the pressing need of more fire hydrants on the water line and request that you order the purchase of six more, to be placed at the dis cretion of the 1•`ire Chief. The cost of these additional hydrants will be more than offset by the saving on hose, because the hose would not have to be dragged long distances on the road to fires. Call REQUISITIONS: Requisitions for supplies were presented and read, as follows: For the Police Department, to -wit: Two Cap Badges, L $1.50 each. The City Clerk stated that the requisition included prneti- cally everything needed fir the clerk's office for the entire year. It visa moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilman Hirtzler that the said requisitions be granted. Upon Roll Call vote, Councilmen De Leo, Naughton, Lammers and Hirtzler voting in the affirmative and Lafferty and Mcgee in the negative. Motion declared carried. I ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIO➢➢S. Old Emergency Ordinance. Inasmuch as the Council voted on the _mergency ordinance intro duced during the year 1935 but did not make final disposition of same, the City Clerk again he brought it up for consideration. City Attorney Laly that gave a verbal opinion that i considered the proposed ordinance void and dead by lapse of time, UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS. Police Car. Councilman Naughton brought up the matter of purchasing a car for the Po- lice liapartment and urged that the Council do something In the matter. After informal con- sultation between members of the Council, it was moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded inserted in the Port Townsend Leader, asking by Councilman Hirtzler that an advertisement be car, bids to be opened at the regular session of for bids to furnish the city with a patrol Upon inquiry by the City Clerk as to specifications, it was suggested tha Feby 4th, 1936. the specifications call for a car the same as used by the State Highway Patrol or car of e- qual value and type. Upon Roll Call vote, all six Councilmen present voted in the affirm- ative and motion was declared carried. Gasoline Bids: Pursuant to order made at the previous session of the Council, bids presented for furnishing the city with gasoline for the ensuing year, were now opened, the bidders being as follows: Shell 011 Company; Standard Oil Company; Richfield oil Company; Union Oil Company. The bids of the Shell Oil Company and the Standard Oil 9ompany were read in full, and at the request of members of the Council, only the prices quoted by the Richfield Oil C and the Union Oil Company were read. The terms, conditidns, etc., of the said proposals and agreements are hereby made e part of these records with the same force and effect as though set out here in full; the same being on file in,the office of the City Clerk. j; Awarded to Three Low Bidders. After informal consideration of the proposals, Council- man Naughton called attention to the fact that the three low bidders, the Shell Oil Company, the Standard Oil Company and the Union Oil Company had submitted the same prices and recom- mended that delivery of gasoline be awarded the said companies on a basis of four months to f' each company. It was then moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the contract be awarded to the said Shell 011 Company, the Standard Oil Company and thr 4' Union Oil Company on the basis of four months delivery to each company, the gasoline to be by the City Clerk, thi the grade quoted in the proposals at 131¢ per gallon. Upon inquiry for the is order of delivery specifying that the Shell oil Company should have the delivery 011 fo, v the n Company four months, the Union Oil Company for the four months and the Standard the following four months, was incorporated in the motion. five councilmen present voted in the affirmative; Councilman Upon Roll Call vote, all DeLoo having been excused from:-further attendance at this session before the vote was taken Motion declared carried.
