Granted to wreck building.
First taking up the application to wreck the Washington
Street building, it was moved by Councilman McGee and seconded by Councilman Hirtzler that
a permit be granted to wreck the building on the Washington Street grade, contingent upon
making a deposit of $10.00 and that a substantial railing be built on the property line
along the edge of the sidewalk. Motion declared carried.
Building permit referred_.
In the matter of Lawisf application for a building permit,
there was some doubt as to the extent of the proposed construction and it was moved by
Courm ilman Sather and seconded by Councilman De Leo that the application be referred to the
Building Committee for investigation and report. Motion declared carried.
Welch Building:
It appearing from reports that a structure had been built in the rear
of the building occupied by the Olympic Hdwe & Furniture Co., which does not conform to th
provisions of the Building Ordinance and for which no permit was granted, it was moved by
Councilman Sather and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the Chief of Police be instruct
ad to notify Mr. Geo. Welch that the said structure does not conform with the provisions
of the Building Code and that no permit had been granted therefor. Motion declared car-
ried.
REQUISITIONS.
Fire Department:
A requisition from -the Fire Department to purchase 12 spark plugs fo
the Fire Engine, was presented and read, and it was moved by Councilman Hirtzler and secon
ad by Councilman Sather that the requisition be granted. Motion declared carried.
UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS.
Plans and Specifications

City Engineer Campbell presented the Plana and Specifications for the Water Syste
Project entitled "Additions and Betterments to; and Replacements of, the Existing Muni6ipe
Water Works System of the City of Port Townsend" and the same was read in full; the origir
copy of same being now on file in the City Clerk's office, and is here referred to and mad
a part of these minutes with the same force and effect as though set out here in full.
(Mayor Bangerter arrived during this reading
Plans and Specifications Adopted. (and thereafter presided.
It was moved by Councilman Hirtzler and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the
said plans and specifications be approved and adopted. Upon Roll Call vote, all seven
councilmen voted inr.the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
To take Plans to Olympia:
It was further moved by Councilman Hirtzler and seconded
by Councilman Sather to instruct the City Engineer to take the said plans to Olympia and
present them to the Acting State Director P.V..A., at the earliest possible moment, and to
ascertain, from the Director, if the city may advertise for bide on the project, subject
to the decision of the said Director. Motion declared carried.
Re: Sidewalks:
An informal discussion was had relative to demands for sidewalks, pa-
ving, etc., which resulted in the conclusion that if people desired sidewalks and paved
streets, it was incumbent upon the abutting property owners to finance such proposed con-
struction, all In -:accordance with the State Laws.
Delinquent Water User:
At the request of a water:patron now delinquent in his paymanl
Courcilman Lammers brought the matter before the Council and without motion or vote, it wi
referred back to•the Water Superintendent.
Upon motion of Councilman Sather, seconded by Councilman Hirtzler, the
Council; oted to adjourn.

The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular session this
29th day of October, 1935, at 7:30 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
Councilman Wm. Lammers, Mayor protem, presiding in the absence of Mayor Bangerter.
ROLL CALL:
Upon Roll Call, there were present City Attorney 111. S. Daly,City Clerk C. F.
Christian, and Councilmen H. L. Hirtzler, Tony De Leo, Peter Naughton and Wm. Lammers Sr.
MINUTES APPROVED:
Minutes of the regular session of October 22, 1935, were read and
approved as read.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS.
Re: Mrs. Inez 0. Harned:
The City Clerk reported having received a letter from Mrs.
Inez 0. Harned, owner of the building on Washington Street,recently condemned by the City
Council as a fire ,hazard, to the effect that she would gladly deed the property to the Coun-
ty if a deed was forwarded for her signature. The Clerk stated that he had forwarded the
letter to the County 'Treasurer with the request that they attend to the matter at once.
Put Current Expense Warrants on Interest.
The Clerk further reported to the Council
that it would soon be necessary to put current expense warrants on interest, since practic-
ally all surplus funds now on hand would be paid out at the end of the year for interest,
bond redemption, the new water works project, btc.
Main Line Meter Readings;
The report of the Water Superintendent, showing the flow of
water through the main line meters for the period ending October 29th, was presented, read,
and ordered filed.
BUILDING PERMITS.
Applications for Building Permits were presented, read, and disposed of as follows:
From Port Townsend Lodge No. 6, F & A.M., to -wit:

Gentlemen:
Permission is requested to make general repairs to the dwelling house situate in
the grounds of the Laurel Grove Cemetery. Cost is estimated at $75.00.
