School Dist. #43, Re: Stop Signs:
A communication from the Directors of School Distric
No. 43, was presented and read, as follows:

Gentlemen:
The Directors of School District No. 43 request that you have safety stop signs
placed on the following streets near the school buildings:
Corner of Van Ness and Benton
Corner Harrison and Blaine - both sides
Corner Blaine and Pierce - both sides.

The said communication was referred to the Street Committee for investigation and repot
Highway Dept. Circular Letter.
The City Clerk reported receipt of a circular letter
from the Highway Department relative to accounting methods and labor practices and communi-
cation was ordered filed. -

relative to sale of defaulted bonds, was presented and read, as follows:

REQUISITIONS.
Police Department:
Requisition from the Police Department was presented and read, for
Revolver shells, and Flashlight batteries.
It was moved by Councilman Naughton end seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the said
requisition be granted. Motion declared carried.

Advertise for Bond:• -Bids:
Taking up the matter of defaulted bonds, City Attorney Daly
recommended that the proposed bonds again be advertied for sale, inasmuch as inquiries have
been received relative thereto, since the date set pevfously for receipt of bids. It vies
then moved by Councilman Hirtzler and seconded by Councilman Sather to re -advertise the
bond sale, bids to be opened at a regular session of the Council on October 29th, 1935.

The President has approved a grant of $`27,900 for the above project. The grant
$fis approved upon condition that the project will be placed under contract before December

priate instructions as to acceptance, and instructions relative to advertising for bids,
and awarding contracts. You will also be supplied with mandatory construction regulation

Clerk instructed to reply.
It was moved by Councilman Hirtzler and seconded by Counci
man Naughton that the City Clerk be instructed to supply Mr. Hoffman with the information
requested, at the earliest opportunity. Motion declared carried.
To Apply for INPA Labor.
City Clerk Christian brought up the matter of applying for 71P.
labor for the coming year, inasmuch as the budget for 1936 will be considered and adopted
at the Budget Hearing on October 7th and that it was necessary to take early action if the
Council considered applying for such labor.
It was then moved by Councilman De Leo and seconded by Councilman Sather that an effort
be made to obtain relief labor. Yotion declared carried.
Campbell to get information.
No one having been designated to take up the matter of
securing relief labor, it was moved by Councilman Sather and seconded by Councilman Laffer
that Engineer Campbell be empowered and instructed to contact the "forks Progress Administr
tion relative to securing relief labor. Motion declared carried.
Adjournment:
Upon motion of Councilman Hirtzler, seconded by Councilman Sather, Counc
voted to adjourn.
