ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS,
Proposod Emergency Ordinance for Water Works Betterments.
An Ordinance to provide funds for the rebuilding of the City 'Pater System, to be
matched with a 45% Federal grant, and entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Port Townsend
specifying and adopting a system or plan for the making of certain additions and betterment
to, and replacements of, the existing municipal water works system, declaring the cost ther
of as nearly as may be, and providing for the payment of the cost of such additions, better
ments, replacements and extensions by the issuance of emergency warrants upon the Olympic
Gravity Water Fund of the City of Port Townsend, and by grant from the Federal Emergency
Administration of Public Works."
Said p:•oposed emergency ordinance was read in full for the first reading, and in
accordance with State statutes, laid over to the next regular session.
ORDINANCE FOR SPECIAL ELECTION.
It appearing to the Council that a tax levy over and above the 15 mills alloyed under
State laws, will be required to meet the necessary expenditures for the year 1936, it was
moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Hirtzler that the City Attorney be
instructed to draw and present an ordinance providing for a special election to be held on
the 24th day of September, for submission to the electors of the city, proposals to levy
specific and additional taxes for the support of the Public Library, the City Parks, and
also for the street department.
Upon Roll Call vote, all six Councilmen present voted in then ffirmative and mo-
tion was declared carried.
ADJOURNMENT.

Upon motion of Councilman Hirtzler, seconded by Councilman Lafferty, Council voted to
adjourn.
