Port Townsend, Washington, July 9, 1935.
The Mayor and the City Council,
Port Townsend, Washington.
Sire:
It is respectfully requested that the grading and surfacing of Jefferson Street
from Monroe to Jackson Street be given attention at an early date.
Jefferson Street is the entrance to the present Quarantine Station and at present
is in very poor condition for the traversing of trucks and automobiles. As there is con-
siderable traffic over this block due to the moving of equipment, etc., the placing in prop
er condition of this block of road would greatly facilitate the movement of traffic..
r
There is at present a large pile of wood partially obstructing the roadway and thee
" i,
is a manhole near the crown of the small elevation between monroe and Jackson which must be
considered in the grading and leveling of the block.
Thanking you for your early attention to this matter, I am,
Yours truly,
H. A. Rasmussen, Surgeon,
Chief Quarantine Officer at Puget Sound.
Councilman Sather stated, in relation to the foregoing communication, that the wood
