CITY ATTORNEY.
Newland letter to Mayor.
City Attorney Daly reported that the Mayor was in receipt
of a letter from District Engineer Newland, requesting additional information relative to
the 1933, 1934, and 1935 Street Budgets, which may'.regilire at least a weekts time -to assem-
ble and prepare for presentations
Mayor George Bangerter arrived at this time and thereafter presided.
LaVera Suit Dismissed.
City Attorney Daly further reported that the case of LsVera vs
the City had been determined in favor of the City and that the costs of the court had been
assessed to the plaintiff.
CHIEF OF POLICE.
April Report.
The report of the Chief of Police for the month of April, 1935, was pre
sented, read, and ordered filed.
WATER SUPT.
Main Line Meter Readings.
The reports of the Water Superintendent, showing the flow of
water through the main line meters, for the period ending May 7, 1935, were presented, read
and prdered filed.

Finance and Claims.
The Committee on Finance and Claims submitted the following writ-

Committee on Water and Drainage submitted the fallowing written

From R. N. Marion, re: sewer connection.
Communication from R. N. Marion was presen-
ted and read; as follows:

M,r. Mayor; -
I would like to know if I can hook my sewer up with the city sewer as I am leas
than a block away and it is down hill from my house to the city sewer. On other side of
sheet is a drawing that will explain. My ground will not drain and it is not healthy as
the Health Officer will tell you. R. N. Marion.

Communications, continued.
Card of thanks from Anderson family.
Mayor Bangerter submitted the following card of
acknowledgement:
We acknowledge with grateful appreciation your kind expression of sympath;
and thoughtful assistance in our time of sorrow.
The family of George Anderson.
Mayor Bangerter informed the Council that he had ordered a floral tribute, to be sent
in the name of the Council, at a coat of $2.00.
Foster Application.
The folloting postal card communication was presented and read:

City Clerk: -
Kindly ask the Hon. Body to give me permission to gravel sidewalk in front of
1741 & 39 Jefferson Street. Also to shingle & repair premises. Cost of Material $60.00

Acknowledgement from Mack Truck Co.
Communication from Mack -International Motor Truck
Corporation was presented and read, as follows:

Dear Sir:- Attn: Mr. C. F. Christian.
We are in receipt of your letter of April 15th in which you enclosed final payment
on your Mack pumper. We are enclosing bill -of -sale for this equipment - also, the properl3
endorsed Certificateoof Title and Application for Re -issue of Certificate of Title.
We appreciate very much the manner in which payments on this lease have been taker
care of and trust that we may be of service to you in the future.

Documents mentioned were enclosed and the City Clerk was verbally authorized to make
application to the Director of License for re -issue of Certificate of Title to the City.
Assn of Washington Cities, Convention Bulletin.
The City Clerk reported receipt of the Convention Bulletin of the Association of
Washington Cities, the Convention to be held this year in Centralia on May 9th and loth.
An inquiry developed the fact that no one could spare the time to attend the convention.
Association Dues Voted.
It appearing that funds had been budgeted for membership in
the Association, it was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Lammers the
the membership fee of $20.00 for this city, be paid to the Association. Motion declared
carried.
Chamber of Commerce Resolution
Re: Proposed enlargement of Olympus Monument.
The Clerk reported receipt of a copy of resolution adopted by the Port Townsend
Chamber of Commerce, protesting against an increase in the area of the Olympic National
Monument, but no action was taken on same as the Council is already on record as opposing
any increase. It was ordered that the resolution be filed.
BUILDING PERMITS.
Applications for Building Permits were presented, read, and disposed of, as follows:

Permission is requested to erect a new, frame dwelling house on my property on
south side of Lincoln Street, between Clallam and Jackson Streets. Coat is estimated at
$1200.00.
