The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port Tovrnsend met In regular session this 19th day of March, 1935, at 7:30 otclock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Counc'.l.man ":m. Lammers, Mayor pro tem presiding until the arrivnl of Mayor Bangerter. ROLL CALL. Upon Roll Call, there were oresent City Attorney '11 J. Daly, City Clerk C. F. Christian, and Councilmen "r. S. Lafferty, Wm. Lammers Sr., H. L. Hirtzler and Peter Naughton; Mayor Bangerter and Councilmen Sather, McGee and DeLeo arriving later in the ses• sion. MINUTES READ AND APPRO'UED: The minutes of the regular session of March 5th were read and approved as read. Councilmen arrive. Councilmen Paul Ff. Sather and 'Pony DeLeo arrived during reading of the minutes and took their seats in the Council. REPORTS OF OFFICERS. City Attorney on proposed ordinance. City Attorney %7. J. Daly submitted the follovrin, written report: Port Townsend, Washington, March 19, 1935. Hon. Mayor and City Council, City of Port Townsend, Ylashington. Gentlemen: At the last regular meeting of the City Council I was instructed to prepare an ordinance licensing card tables and pin and marble games in this City. I have been in- formed that there is nox pending before the State Legislature a bill authorizing cities and towns to so license, and I believe that the matter of ordinance regulation in-s0-far as the City of Port Townsend is concerned, should be deferred until at least April the second, whe we =frill know definitely what the legislature has enacted. Christian, City Clerk, Port Townsend, Plash. Dear Sir:- Re: Permit No. 1020. The application of the City of Port Townsend for an extension of time for beginnir of construction under the above named permit on Rixon Creek has been received and approved by the Supervisor. The time for beginning has been extended for a period of two years, or until April 1, 1937. Yours very truly, Chas. J. Bartholet, Supervisor of Hydraulics By G. Hallahan, Secretary The voucher for $5.00 extension fee has been signed and is returned herewith. It was ordered that the said permit be filed with other water right documents. Chief of Police. School Traffic Signs. A combined written report and requisition was submitted by Geo. "lillestoft, Chief of Police, as follows, to -wit: Port Townsend, ;Dash., March 19, 1935. Hon. Mayor and City Council, Port Townsend, ';;ash. I have been requested by the principal of the Junior High School, Mr. Schafer, to place stop signs at the corners of Fir Street and F Street. Mr. Schafer explained several near accidents to children going to school from the fifht ward. I hereby request permission to purchase stop signs for these corners and others that have been demiloshed. Geo. 11illestoft, Chief ,of Police. It was moved by Councilmen Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Naughton that such per- mission be granted. Motion declared carried. City Treasurer. February Report. The report of the City Treasm•er for the month of Februar••, 1935, we presented, read, and referred to the Finance Committee.
