The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular sessim thi lath day of December, 1934, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall Councilman t'm. Lammers, Mayor pro tem, presiding until the arrival of Mayor Bangerter. ROLL CALL. Upon Roll Call there were present City Attorney W. J. Daly, City Clerk C. F. The minutes of the regular session of Dec. 4th, were read and approved as read. REPORTS OF OfFICERS- Plarrants Issued. The City Clerk reported having issued the following warrants since the last session of the Council: Upon the Current Expense Fund, to -wit: Otto A. Case, State-reasurer, Nov. Industrial Insurance 10.38 Upon the Olympic uravity 'linter Fund, to -wit: Otto A. Case, State 'roasurer, Nov. Industrial Insurance 10.09 State Tax Commission November Business Tax 98.14 Interest Coupons. The City Clerk further reported that coupons representing the inter est due Jan. 1st, 1935, on the defaulted Refund Bonds, 1st Issue, had been duly printed, signed and executed and turned Aver to the City Lreasurer for transmission to the Fiscal Agency in New York City. Dear Sir: - This is to inform you that I have appointed George ;"illeatoft to be Chief of Police beginning Saturday December loth at tyro -thirty P.M., in place of Elmer Compton, discharged recently. The November jteport of the Superintendent of the Plater Department, was presented, read, and referred to the Plater Committee. BUILDING PERMITS. Applications for Building Permits were presented, read, and disposed of as follows: From E. J. Schmidt for John Siebenbaum, to -wit: Port To•xnsend, Plash., Dec. 7th, 1934. To the Honorable Mayora nd City Council, Port Townsend, Wash. Gentlemen: Permission is requested to patch the roof of the building occupied by the Lus- sier Jewelry Store, corner of Taylor and Washington Streets, at an estimated cost of $10.0 Respectfully Lubmitted, E. It was moved by Councilman Welch and seconded by Councilman Sather that the said per- mits be granted. Motion declared carried. From August J. Baunach, to -wit:: a Port Townsend, Wash., Dec. 12, 1934. To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Port Townsend, Wash. Gentlemen: - permission is requested to fill in and improve Lot 8 of Block 29, L. B. Has- tings Add., and to erect thereon a gasoline filling station at an estimated cost of $1200. Station to be a drive-in construction and gasoline tanks will be placed underground in ac- cordance with the city rules and regulations. Respectfully submitted, August J. Baunach. Gentlemen: - I herewith make application to lease one block of Jackman Street in Hastings 3rd Addition; being that part of said Street lying between Hanstings Avenue and 29th St. This block of the street is now covered with all kinds of brush and if I am given a lease, I will clear'off the brush and leave it in good condition at the end of the lease. Coyne, re: purchase of dirt, was presented and read, as follows: ^, Port Townsend, Wash., December lath, 1934. Honorable Mayor and City Council, y City og Port Townsend, Washington. �+ Gentlemen: - Application is hereby made to purchase the dirt remaining on the alley on the north part of Block 188 of the Eisenbeis Addition. The dirt sought is the remaining por- tion of the alley used as a borrow pit by the state contractor in making the fill across rt the swamp. I consider a fair price for this dirt to be $20.00 and I make that offer for the purchase of the same. Respectfully, Jae. H.
