It was moved by'Councilman Welch and seconded by Councilman Smith that !the said claims be allowed and that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to draw war- rants upon the proper funds in payment of same. Upon Roll Call vote, all four councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Mayor Bangerter arrived at this time and thereafter presided. Claim of Fred G. Lewis. The claim of Fred G. Lewis for rebate in the sum of $16.75 on 2nd hand license paid for the year 1933, was considered separately, and after a state- ment of the facts by City Attorney Daly, it was moved by Councilman Welch and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the claim for rebate be allowed. Motion declared carried. REPORTS OF'OFFICERS. Debris above Diversion Dam. Mayor Bangerter and City Attorney Daly, reporting on their !conferences and letters of Mr. E. 41. Erickson, Resident Manager of the National Paper Prod- ucts Co., relative to logs and other debris in the river above the diversion dam and the con edition of the pipe line within the Forestry Reserve, they stated that efforts were being mad to secure CCC Labor to clear up the fallen timber and log jam in the river and that Mr. Eric son estimated .that the work would require about 100 man days. Also that recent high waters had taken out part of the debris above the dam thereby relieving part of the imminent danger to the dam. It was stated that the matter would be taken up with Mr. Plumb at a later date. 629, Minutes of regular session of Dec. 4/34 continued. Re': Pipe Removal. Assurance to National Paper Products Co. Relative to the proposed removal of the metal pipe of the old'Snow Creek line, now on the present right of way, it was stated that the National Paper Products Co., had requests assurance from the city that the new pipe line would not be injured or endangered by such removal. NAPPCO to be assured. It was moved by Councilman Welch and seconded by Councilman -Lafferty that the City Clerk be instructed to write the National Paper Products Co. to the effect that such assurance would be forthcoming if and when the pipe is to be removed. Motion declared carried. Timber discussion. A general discussion was had relative to removal of the timber at the head works of the water system. Dept. of Labor report. The City Clerk reported receipt of a card from the State Dept. of Labor, showing that physicians claims for services in the case of Roy Weppner, former patrolman, had been allowed by the Department. Salary Warrants Issued. Dear Sir: - Acknowledgement is made of your letter of November 21 enclosing copy of letter from the Planning Board of the City of Port Townsend making recommendations concerning the repair and rebuilding of the seawall on Water Street in the, City of Port Townsend.
