THE CITY COUNCIL, of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular session
this let day of May, 1934, at 8 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the
City Hall,'
Councilman V.1m. Lammers, Mayor Pro Tem, presiding until the arrival of Mayor
Mangerter.
ROLL CALL.
Upon Roll Call, there were present City Attorney W. J. Daly, City Clerk
C. F. Christian, and Councilmen Sam McGee, W. S. Lafferty, Wm. Lammers,Sr.,
and C.P.Aubert;
Mayor Bangerter and Councilman Smith arriving later in the cession.
MINUTES READ AND APPROVED.
The Minutes of the regular session of April
17th, 1934,
were read and approved an read.
Mayor Bangerter arrived immediately following reading of the minutes and
thereafter
preside .

WELCH INSTALLED.
Mr. George Welch having been duly elected as Councilman for the First
Ward and being
present, Mayor Bangerter named Councilman Aubert as a committee of one to introduce him to
the Council. Councilman Aubert thereupon conducted Councilman Welch to a seat in the Coun-
cil and he was duly installed as Councilman for the First Ward.
Welch on Committees:
Mayor Bangerter then assigned Councilman Welch
to the same
Standing Committees as held by former Councilman Use. F. Townsend, with the
statement that
(changes in the committees may be made later if found desirable.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS.
Daly Appointed:
Mayor Bangerter formally announced the appointment of
Mr. W. J. Daly
as City Attorney to succeed the late Jae. W. B. Scott, effective as of April
19th, 1934.
Oath of Office and Bond.
The City Clerk reported that both Councilman
Welch and City
Attorney 91. J. Daly had duly subscribed to the Uath of Office, and also, that
Mr. Daly had
(submitted his official bond.
Shell Gasoline bills paid.
The City Clerk reported that, pursuant to
order of the
Council, he had drawn a warrant on the Current Expense Fund in the amount of
$130.91 in fa-
vor of the Shell oil Company in payment of February and March invoices.

It was moved by Councilman Aubert and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the said
claims be allowed and that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to draw warrants upon
the proper funds in payment of same. Upon Roll Call, all four Councilmen present voted
rv.
in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
Councilman Smith arrived during presentation and reading of Officers reports.
BUILDING PERMITS.
Applications for Building Permits, submitted on various dates, were presented, read,
