ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS:
Resolution:
The following Resolution was submitted:
Whereas, the Federal Government, in conformity with its policy of national industrial
recovery, has initiated a program wherein all forms and nature of public works to be prose-
cuted in the Suture be intelligently planned sufficient-1
.y far in advance that only actual'
and concrete work be engaged in and haphazard methods minimized to the lowest degree,
And whereas, in conformity with said Federal program, it appears necessary that a
planning commission be appointed for the City of Port Townsend to act in harmony with and
in pursuance to.the said national program,
Be it Therefore Resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that a plan-
ning Commission for said City be established to survey and plan for necessary public works
with the end in view that such works be for the common good and not for the benefit of any
single person, or persons. '
Be it further resolved that the Mayor of the City of Port Townsend is hereby authorize
to appoint said commission to consist of seven citizens of the City.of Port Townsend and
that in addition thereto the said Mayor, the City Attorney and the City Engineer be and be-
come ex-officio members.
The adoption of the Resolution was moved by Councilman Smith, and seconded by Council-
man Lafferty. Upon Roll Call, the following named Councilmen voted yes, namely: Smith,
Lafferty, Lammers, Miller, Aubert and McGee, Councilman Townsend being absent, and the
Resolution was declared adopted.
AUJUUNNMNNT:
On motion of Councilman Lafferty, seconded by Councilman Lammers, which
was carried, the Council adjourned.

The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Wash. met .in regular session the 27t
day of February 1934 at 7:3o P. M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Mayor George
Bangerter presiding.
ROLL CALL
U on Roll Call there were present Mayor Bangerter, Deputy City Attor-
ney W. J. Daly, Deputy 'ity Clerk C. F. Christian Jr., and Councilmen Wm. Lammers 5r.,
Jacob Miller, C. P. Aubert and Sam Mc Gee, Councilman Smith arriving during the Reports of
Committees.
MINUTES'
By unanimous consent the reading of the minutes be dispensed with
until the next regular meeting.
REBRTS' OF COMMITTEES
Speciul Committee 'on Hadl'ook lrohd'al"e' Line:
• Councilman Aubert reported to the City
Council that hte committee, except Councilman Lafferty, met with Mr. Smythe and Mr. •Pat of
the Golden Pine Distilling Company at the office of Mr. Daly on Monday February 26th, 1934,
and after a long discussion it was tentatively agreed that a plan of lease be submitted to
the douncil following the Zellerbach general scheme of lease. Mr. Ddly then read a draft
and plan of lease. It was moved by Councilman Smith',:.ileconded by Councilman Lammers that
Mr. Daly present and file with the City Clerk at the next regular.meeting a formalrresolu-
tion providing for the lease of the Hadlook-Irondale water pipe line. Upon Roll ball all
five Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and the motion was declared carried.
Upon motion of councilman Aubert, seconded by Councilman Lammers it was unamimously
ordered that the City Clerk advise the local National Paper Products Company of the City
Councilts intentions in the matter of rehabilitation of the Hadlock-Irondale water pipe lir

The following request for a building permit, addressed to the Mayor and
City Council was read

Permission is hereby requested to tear down the building at Quincy
St.

It was moved by Councilman Aubert, seconded by Councilman Lammers that the permit is
granted on the deposit of Five dollars. Motion declared carried.

The fallowing request for a building permit, addressed to the Mayor and
Council was read:
Gentlemen: -
Permission is hereby requested to build a garage, 26 feet by 14 feet,on
my property described as Lot 2, Block 10, 0. C. Hastings Addition.
