December Repor4. of Plater Superintendent. The report of the Supt. of the Water Depart- ment for the month of December 1933, was presented read and referred to the Water Committe . Meter Reading Main Line. The report of the Water Supt. of the flow of water through the main line meters for the period ending January 3rd, was presented, read and ordered filed. Steel Pipe Line Supplies. The City Engineer presented the following report relative to supplies needed for the proposed steel pipe line, to -wit: Port Townsend, Washington, Jan. 3, 1934 ;o the Mayor & City Council Gentlemen:- Material to be ordered for 12" and 14" Steel Pipe Line on Sheridan 3t. Hastings Ave. and Discovery Road:- 168 - 3/4" Pilot Spuds. These Spuds are to be tapped for 3/4" Corporation Cocks, Iron Pipe thread. 168 - 3/4" Pilot Spud Plugs for above. Price quoted me By the Beall Pipe and Tank Corporation, Portland, Oregon, on December 18, 1933 was for 3/4" Pilot Spud, $0.10 each, for Pilot Spud Plug 0.03 each, F.O.B. Plant, Portland, Oregon. New Corporation Cocks will have to be provided for services now in use. 12" Pipe should be laid from Connection at San Juan Ave., along Discovery Road to Hastings Ave, along Hastings Ave., to Sheridan St., and South on Sheridan with as much 12" Steel Pipe as it is possible to obtain. The Balance shall be 14" to the Connection at 19th Street. A 14" x 14" x 4" Tee should be made for Fire hydrant Connection at 19th and Sheridan St. Fire hydrant at Hastings Ave. and Discovery Road should be connected either to the 12" Steel pipe with a 12" x 12" x 4" Tee or to the 6" wood Main. The 2 - 12" and 1 - 14" Valve required for this Job are to be furnished by the City ',%star Department. They should be cleaned, over -hauled and painted before being installed. Report on City Jail: Councilman Townsend reporting for the Committee stated that to install Jail Cells in the Police Court Room would cost approximately $400.99 per Cell, as the Cells in the Basement had practically no value. He recommended that the floor in the basement be raided by partly filling with gravel, saying that the said work could be done by C.W.A. workmen. New Meter in Central Cafe. Councilman Townsend reported that s now meter had been in- stalled in the Central Cafe to ascertain if the old meter was registering incorrectly. COMMUNICATIONS. Communication from the City Library Board was addressed to the Mayor, was presented and read as follows: - Port Townsend, !'lash., Jan. 2nd, 1934 Bon. George Bangerter, Mayor Dear Sir: The Library Board requests the reappointment of h;rs. Tedd Marriott as °;ember of the Library Board. Mrs. Harry L. Brown, Chairman Mayor Bangerter then formally reappointed Mrs. Tedd Marriott as a member of the Library Board. Letter from Hoffman. city Clerk Christian stated that he had forwarded all extra certificates and so forth, requested by Mr. E. R. Hoffman and had received the following acknowledgement in reply. Motion Carried and Recess declared. COUNCIL RECONVENES. Council reconvened at 9:15 P. M. and upon Roll Call there were present, Mayor George Bangerter, Deputy City,Attorney IN. J. Daly, City Clerk C. F. Christian, and Councilmen Miller, Aubert, Townsend, McGee, Lafferty and Lammers.
