ork. Further definite details regarding these projects are now in the hands of County
ugineer Bugge, who is proceeding with the proper preliminary surveys.
I anticipate that very important survey work, material estimates, drainage and
rading location data, and other information can be obtained at this time under this
pecial account which will be very valuable for future use.
I am enclosing a suggest form of letter for use in transmitting this proposal
if action on these projects to Mr. French. All communications should be addressed to

Suggested form of letter was attached and it was moved by Councilman Townsend and
seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the City Clerk be dnstructed to send a letter as
recommended. Motion declared carried.

Re:- Liquor Licenses
Telegram from E. M. Starrett, address-
ed to W. J. Daly as Deputy Attorney, recommending that the City Council take certain
actions on licensing the sale of hard liquors was read for the information of the Council
and then returned to Mr. Daly.
ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS.
Storing of Gasoline:
Under instructions from City Council, Deputy City Attorney
Daly, presented an ordinance regulating the keeping and storing of flammable liquids.
Entitled as follows: -

Said ordinance was read in full for the first reading, and was laid over lb the
next meeting.
UNFINISHED NEW BUSINESS.
Call for Bids for Gasoline and Oils and for D1spos'aL•• of Garbage. xxx several
Contracts for supplies and service expiring February ist.It was moved by Councilman
Aubert and seconded by Councilman McGee that the Cleric be instructed to advertise for
bids to supply the City with Gasoline and Oils for the ensding year and to also advertise
for bids for the d1sposa1xxx of garbage and refuse for the ensuing year. Said bids to
be opened at the regular session of January 16th. Motion declared carried.

The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port Townsend, Wash., met in regular session this 9th
day of January, 1934 at 7:30 o'clock P. M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Coun-
cilman 71m. Lammers, Mayor pro tem, presiding until the arrival of Mayor Bangerter.
ROLL CALL
Upon Roll Call there were present Deputy City Attorney W. J. Daly, City Clerk C. F.
Christian, and Councilmen Jacob Miller, C. P. Aubert, George F.'Townsend, W. S. Lafferty,
and William Lammers; Councilman' Smith being absent on account of illness and Mayor
Bangerter and Councilman McGee arriving later in the session.
Minutes Read and approved:
The minutes of the regular session of January 2nd, 1934,
were reed and approved as read.

Councilman Sam McGee arrived during reading of the minutes
and took a seat in the Council.

Bill of N. L. Short Motor Company
A new truck having been purchased for the Water
Department, it was moved by Councilman Aubert and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the
bill of N. L. Short Motor Company for a new truck for the Water Department be paid from
1934 Budget after close of all business for 1933. Upon Roll Call all six Councilmen present(

voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS
Term of Garbagec Contract.
Deputy City Attorney W. J. Daly reported to the Council

that after reading the City Ordinance relative to Garbage Disposal, he found that the City

could enter into a Contract for more than one year if they so desired.
Order to Advertise rescinded.

It was then moved by Councilman Aubert and seconded by
Councilman Lafferty, that the order of the Council to advertise for garbage Contract for
one year be rescinded. Motion declared carried.

New Call for Garbage Bids.

It was moved by Councilman McGee and seconded by Councilman

Miller that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for Bids for the garbage concession
for one year and also alternative bids for one to three years. Bids Eo be opened at the
regular session of February 6.
