Police Emergency Ordinance: a The proposed emergency Ordinance appropriating the sum of jt50.00 for the payment of salaries and wages of city police was now taken up and again read in full for the second reading. It was then moved by Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilman Townsend that the third reading be by title only. Upon roll call Councilmen Smith, Lammers and Townsend voted in the affirmative and Councilmen McGee, Lafferty, Miller and Aubert in the negative2�a{fiSa' Motion declared lost.'�1 h Ward Boundary Ordinance: r `� An Ordinance changing the boundaries of the wards of the City was now resented and �S* read in full for the first reading. Daly presented a form of communication to the Board of County Commissioners presenting a Resolution, requesting the County Commissioners to di- vide the City into 7 voting precincts. The said Petition and Resolution being as follows: To the Hon. Board of County Commissioners, Jefferson County, Washington. Gentlemen: In conformity with the resolution hereto annexed and with the statute law of the State of Washington, there is transmitted herewith a certified copy of a resolution passed by the City Council -at a regular session on Tuesday, November 28, 1933, providing for the creation and establishment under order of your board of seven voting precincts in the city of Port Townsend to provide for voting precincts in conformity with numerical re- quirements. The City Council of the City of Port Townsend have deemed that the establishment of these voting precincts will divide the city numerically as near as possible. R E S O L U T I O N Whereas, it appears to the City Council of the City of Port Townsend from the returns of the last general election held in said city that certain voting precincts therein con- tain more voters than is contemplated under the provisions of Section 5171, Remington's Compiled Statutes of Washington, 1922, and that it is necessary that changes and additions be made to the various voting precincts of said city and, Whereas, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend has examined the last regis- tration books in the hands of the City Clerk of the City of Port Townsend and in the opinion of said City Council the City of Port Townsend should be divided into seven voting precincts with boundaries described as follows, to -wit: PRECINCT NO. I.
