Bids to beaopenedand Decemberthe 5thityClerk Motion declareducarried advertise for bids for ORDINANCES AHD RESOLUTIONS Emergency Ordinance for Police Department: Following instructions of the City Council, Deputy City Attorney Daly submitted an emergency ordinance providing the additional sum of $50.00 for the police budget. The same being read in full, as follows: ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Townsend, declaring an emergency for the immediate appro- priation and expenditure of money in the sum of $50.00 for the payment of the salary of city police, and the issuance of emergency warrants in the payment Lherefor. WHEREAS, the amnety police piforthe Pryears1933h,eaand, ntal func- tad the mountbudgeted forthepayments ofsalaries WHEREAS, the maintenance of the city police department is a necessary government tion of the City of Port Townsend and must be provided for, now therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. APPROVED by the Mayor , 1933. ATTEST: MAYOR C ITY C K. In accordance with the law the proposed Ordinance is layed over to the next session. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS Water Taps on Hastings Avenue: Henry 0. Link, Jr., was given permission to address the Council, who pleaded for wate supply on the lower end of Hastings Avenue, stating that four new taps would be assured at once. After some discussion, the matter was referred to the Water Committee. RECESS It was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Aubert that the Counci recess for 15 mintues. Motion carried and recess declared. COUNCIL RECONVENES & ROLL CALL Council reconvened at 10:20 P. M. and upon roll call there were present Ltayor George Bangerter, Deputy City Attorney W. J. Daly, City Clerk C. F. Christian and Councilmen Townsend, McGee, Smith, Lafferty, Lammers and Miller. Councilman Aubert having been ex- cused from attendance for the remainder of the session. Sadler Employment Approved: It visa moved by Councilman Townsend and seconded ;by Councilman McGee that the report - of the Water Committee on the employment of Mr. Sadler be approved. Employment effective as of November 15th. Upon roll call all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Aubert to be C.W.A. Representative: It was moved by Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that Councilman Aubert be empowered to represent the City relative to the Civil Works Administration meet- ing to be held in Olympia November 22nd. Motion declared carried. Reclaim Old Steel Pipe: In the matter of reclaiming the steel pipe on the old Snow Creek line, it was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Smith that Councilman Townsend and Water Supt. Green be authorized to make an Inspection of the old steel pipe relative to sal - IT I of the Regular Session of Council November 21st, 1933, continued. 503 (Recl�iim Old Steel Pipe continued) vagin same and to report their conclusions to Mayor Bangerter, who will in return re- port o the Council committees. Motion declared carried. Hard i uors Ordinance: t was moved by Councilman Townsend and seconded by Councilman Smith that the City Attor ey draft an ordinance regulating the sale of hard liquors and to submit same at the - next ession of the Council. Motion declared carried. Relative to the illness of Patrolman Weppner, it visa moved by Councilman Townsend and seconded by Councilman Smith that the City Clerk be instructed to take up with the Depar ment the matter of accident insurance for Patrolman Weppner.
