and on Harbor and Health submitted the following joint ,report, to -wit:
Port Townsend, Wash., Oct. 3rd, 1933
To the Honorable Mayor and the City Council of the
City of Port Townsend, Washington.
Gentlemen:
Your Committee on Fire and Light and the Committee on Harbor and Health ask leav
to submit the following report and resolution:
Whereas the building on the northeast corner of Water and Quincy Streets is a monumen
firetrap, and the inside of it a stench in the nostrils of decent men, and whereas the Bid
walk abutting this dilapidated structure has become so dangerous to passing pedestrians th
it became necessary for the city to fence it off, now therefore, be it resolved, that the
City Council of the CityofPort Townsend deem it in accordance with public policy to de-
clare said structure an Eye Sorel' to our city, a threatening public nuisance, and.a menace
to life, limb and health, and should be condemned, and that the City Clerk is hereby in-
structed to call the attention of the Health Officer to the above mentioned conditions in
writing, so that he may act officially.

It was moved by Councilman Aubert and seconded by Councilman Miller That the said re-
port and resolution be adopted. Motion declared carried.
Finance and Claims on Purchase of Water Truck.

reported verbally, in effect, as follows: Councilman BAubert stated uthat oMr. Greenup made
a tentative offer and that he would make a trade-in allowance of $100.00 for the old ti+uck,
Also that N. L. Short had submitted a written proposal, which was now read, quoting a new
Ford truck at $614.58, with an allowance of $150.00 for the used truck, or $464.58 net.
Councilman Townsend reported that, at the request of Councilman Smith he had contacte2
the Buhler Motor Co., and Roy Greenup in the matter of furnishing a truck and had also ta-
ken up the matter with Mr. N. L. Short, and that, as a result, he considered the N.L.Short
proposal the best for the city and recommended that Shartra offer be accepted.
To Purchase Ford Truck.
It was then moved by Councilmen Aubert and seconded by Council
span Lammers that the city purohase a truck for the Water Dept., as per proposal of the N.L.
Short Motor Co., and that the details of the transaction be put in the hands of the Finance
Committee Upon Roll Call, all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion
was declared carried.
To Finance from Present Funds:
It was then moved by Councilman Aubert and seconded by�
Councilman Lafferty, that to save interest charges, the amount of $464.58, the netrpurchase
price, be borrowed from present cash -on -hand in the Water Fund and to repay same from the
1934 budget which provides for the purchase of a truck. Upon Roll Call, all six Councilme
present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
To Transfer Insurance on Trucks:
It was moved by Councilman Townsend and seconded b
Councilman Aubert that the Mayor and the City Clerk be directed to cancel the ed""" r_o
the old truck and to place insurance on the new truck. Motion declared carried. on
BUILDING PERMITS.
Applications for Building Permits were presented, read, and disposed of, as follows:

If the foregoing permission is granted, the Leader Company, by its duly authorize
officers, pledges and binds itself to rebuild the sidewalk to grade at its own expense, if
at a future date the city desires to construct sidewalks on said Adams Street abutting the
property of the Leader Company.
