Wood Contract Awarded.
Taking up the bids for wood', Councilman Miller moved that the bid
of Chas. J. Nelson for 20 cords at .„4.85 be accepted and that the delivery of the wood as
to quality, etc., be under the supervision of Roy Seavey, janitor of the city hall. The
motion vies seconded by Councilman Aubert and upon a call for the question was declared
carried.
WATER BONDS MAY BE REDEEMED.
The City Clerk brought up the matter of redeeming the
$13,000 water bonds due Jan. 1st, 1933, before the due date, stating that funds would be
available at any time after July 1st, and that a small discount could probably be secured
for early redemption. It was then moved by Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilman
Lafferty that the City Treasurer be authorized to redeem the said $13,000 bonds before the
due date if practicAble...'. Motion declared carried.
YIELFARE BOARD PROJECTS.
In the matter of financial assistance from State and Federal funds for public
improvements In'the city and vicinity, the mayor presented the following list which had
been informally agreed upon by the Mayor and Council, to -wit:
For Washington Street, bulkhead, etc. $ 60,000
Hastings Ave., San Juan Avenue, Fort Worden loop of the :'later System 50,000
Irondale-Hadlock water supply Maine 20,000
Taylor Street 'ferrate, bulkheads, etc. 10,000
Re -surfacing streets of the city 50,000
:Rater Street Sea wall 5,000
It was moved by Councilman Townsend and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that these
projects be submitted to the Welfare Board and that the Welfare Board be requested to take
up the consideration of the said projects in the order listed above. Motion carried.
Clerk and Attorney to prepare data.
It was then moved by Councilman Townsend and seconded by Councilman Smith that the
City Clerk and City Attorney be directed to prepare the neceusary data to cover -the pro-
jects outlined by the "'ayor'..And Cou>beil as outlined above. :•:otion declared carried.

Upon motion of Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Smith, Council adjournel

motion was declared carried.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS.
Water for Old Marine Hospital.
The City Clerk reported receipt of acceptance by the
Public health Department of the City'snproposal to furnish water for the old Warine Hospi-
tal building.
CITY PlELFARE PROJECTS.
The City Clerk further reported that Dep. City Attorney W.J.
Daly had drawn up plans for the several projects endorsed by the City Council, for the con

struction of which it is hoped to obtain State relief funds and that the said plans have
been.presented to the County Board for their consideration. These plans are not records
because of space required but are hereby made a part of these miniltes with the same. force
and effect as though set out here in full.
Councilman Aubert thencst'ated that when these plans had come before the Welfare Board
of which he is a member, they took the liberty of changing the description of the Washing-
ton Street project from Polk Street to Fillmore Street and from Plater Street to Taylor St.
After some discussion, it was ordered that these copies should be filed for future refer-
ence.
NEW VOTING BREOINOTS.

Depp'ty City Attorney Daly brought up the matter of creating
additional voting precincts in the city to comply with the State election laws and asked!
the Council to give it their consideration, particularly because the Permanent Registra-
tion law will be'effective this coming September 1st.

that there was not enough on the Hadlock-Irondale line to supply some on

stated that if an additional five pounds pressure was diverted at the main line, it was his
