Location, 110 Taylor Street (Europe Cafe). Owner of premises, L. B. Hastings. It was mooed by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by CouncilmanTbwndendy that the said application be granted. It was then round that the applicant was not eligible to hold a license and the motion was withdrawn with the consent of the second. Romeo Application referred: It was then moved by Councilman Townsend and seconded by Coun- cilman Miller that the said application, together with a separate application for license at retail to be consumed off the premises, be referred to the Police and License committee for investigation and to report at the next regular session. Motion declared carried. Frorp W. M. Hideout, to -wit - For retail license, to be consumed "on the premises." Location, 720 Water Street. (Bowling Alley) Owner of premises, Wm. H. Hill. It was moved by Councilman Townsend and seconded by Councilman Smith that the said application be granted. Upon roll call, all six councilmen present voted in the affirm- ative and motion was declared carried. _ REPORTS OF OFFICERS. 1 On Gasoline Storage: Deputy City Attorney Daly reported that in accordance with in- sbructions from the Council, he had drafted an ordinance to regulate the storage of gaso- line and had submitted the same to the underwriters for approval', but as yet had received no reply. Water Supt. Monthly Report: The report of the City ~rater Supt. for the month of Liar. 1933, was presented, road, and referred to the Water and Brainage committee. Main Line Meters: The report of the City taster Supt. showing the flow of water thrµ,:;.;t; the main line meters for the period ending April llth, was presented, read, and ordered filed. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES. Harbor and Health. As chairman of the Harbor and Heglth committee, Councilman McGee reported that the seagulls were disturbing the early morning slumbers of the guests of the Central Hotel and other water front roamers. It was suggested that the mention the mat- ter to the Health Officer. Hancock Street Petition. Reporting again on the petition for a water main on Hancock Street, Councilman Lammers stated that conditions would not warrant the expenditure neces- sary to install the pipe line petitioned for and Councilman Townsend confirmed Councilman Lammers report. Some discussion followed and Councilman Smith suggested that if they wanted water the they pay for a tap and that the Water Supt. then put in the tap and carry the pipe to the side of the street, where the applicant could carry the pipe the remainder of the way, as every one else had been required to do. BUILDING PERMITS. Applications for Building Permits were presented, read, and disposed of, as follows: Fro:p Ray 0. COMMUNICATIONS I{, Fire Engine Insurance. i A communication from F. W. Eisenbeis, relative to insurance on the fire engine, was presented and read as follows: - Port Townsend, Washington, April 11, 1933 f To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Port Townsend, Weah. Dear Sire.:- �� I beg to call your attention that Policy #241394 New Hampshire on Fire Truck will expire April 17th, 1933. I would be pleased to write the renewal of this policy. Yours truly, F. W. Eisenbeis, Agent. It was moved by Councilman Townsend and seconded by Councilman Smith that the said policy be renewed through Mr. Eisenbeis for as large an amount as the budget allowance will cover. Upon Roll Call, all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS. From Land Office, Re: Stipulations: A communication from the U.S. District Land Office at Spokane, Wash., relative to certain stipulations, was presented and read, as follows; I' Spokane, Wash., April Bth, 1933. C. F. Christian, City Clerk, Port Townsend, Wash. Dear Sir: - Reference is had to your letter of Feb. 23, 1933, asking for additional time with in which to prepare the certain stipulations called for in Commissioner's letter "F", of Jan. 17, 1933, and which were the subject of your letter of Feb. 14, 1933, and our reply of II Feb. 19, 1933, the need for further time being necessary because of illness of the City E..' Attorney. Inasmuch as some time has now elapsed, and a report on the case is overdue, we trust that conditions for the early preparatlon::of these stipulations are now more favora- ; ble. Upon an opinion by Deputy City Attorney Daly that it would be proper for the City to prepare the said stipulations, it was moved by Councilman Townsend and seconded by Council- man Lafferty that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to sign and execute the said stipulations. Upon roll call, all six councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. r About reservoir: Councilmen Lafferty brought up the matter of the condition of the small reservoir, stating that he believed it was time that water was being turned into the said reservoir.
