The report of the City Water Superintendent of the flow of water through the main line ters for the period ending April 4th was presented, read and ordered filed. The report of the Chief of Police, Oompton, for the month of March,1933, was and ordered filed. REPORTS CF STANDING COMMITTEES. cock Street Petition: Reporting verbally, Councilman Lafferty of the Water Committee stated that he and Cou, man Lammers had inspected the location of the proposed pipe line and found that there e no houses on the street at present and told the petitioners that the City could not 1. 11 the pipe line until there were enough consumers to justify the installation. Mr. ker, one of the petitioners, asked the Council to provide some way for installing the p petitioned for, as he and others desired to build homes on the street, but wanted to be ured of water first. Councilman Lammers stated that all revenues were pledged for bond interest payment, unless the revenues exceeding the bond requirements. BUILDING PERMITS. Application for building permits were presented, read and disposed of, as follows: i 411 ( Session of the Citv Council of Aoril 4. 1933 (Building Permits Continued) From John H. Hearing, to -wit: Port Townsend, Wash., April 3rd, 1933 To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Port Townsend, Wash. Gentlemen: Permission is requested to erect a frame dwelling house on property described as Tax title #24, lot 3 and bordering on Taft Street, at an estimated cost of $1500.00. Respectfully submitted, JOHN H. HEARING It was moved by Councilman Miller and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the said permit be granted. Motion declared carried. REQUISITIONS. Water Department: The Water Department presented a requisition for the following supplies, to -wit: 1 Doz. Corporation Cocks 3/01 Doz. 3/4 Stop Cocks 1 Doz. Niples brass It was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Smith that the said requisition be granted. Motion declared carried. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. Gasoline Storage: It was moved by Councilman Townsend and, seconded by Councilman McGee that the City Attorney be directed to draw up an ordinance governing gasoline storage in accordance with the fire underwriter requirements. Motion declared carried. Re: Oath of Office: Councilman McGee inquired of the City Attorney if all officers were bound by their oat'. of office and if it applied to the ordinances of the City as well as the state, and if they, was any penalty provided. Mr; -'Daly replied that it was not covered by the criminal code. Dog License Amendments: Deptlty City Attorney Daly, to whom was referred the matter of the dog license ordinano asked the Council what recommendations they had to make. After some discussion it was re- ferred to the Police and License Committee for recommendation and report. APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSES. Mr. Price Frame, who was present, stated that he desired to apply for a license to dispense beverages under Ordinance No.1026, and asked that his application beaccepted as of April 4th. It was moved'by Councilman Townsend and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that his application be accepted, and the license granted as applied for, if all require- ments of the Ordinance relating to the application and license are met. Upon roll call all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Inquiry about Convictions: William Hideout, who was present, asked if there was any remedy for a man convicted of possession and sale of beer to obtain a license under the present ordinance. After some discussion, it was suggested that the ordinance be amended to confine the period to not more than two years prior to the application for license, and the Deputy City Attorney was requested to draw up an ordinance amending Ordinance No.1026 in that respect. RECESS. It was moved by Councilman Townsend and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the Coun- cil recess for ten minutes. Motion declared carried. COUNCIL RECONVENED & ROLL CALL. The Council reconvened at 9:00 o'clock P. M. and upon roll call there were present Deputy City Attorney W. J. Daly, City Clerk C. F. Christian and Councilmen Jacob Miller, George F. Townsend, Sam McGee, W. B. Smith, W. S. Lafferty and Wm. Lammers, Sr. Councilman Lammers, Mayor Pro Tem, presiding. Applications: Referring back to applications for licenses, the completed application of Price Frame for license to sell beverages in the store room of the Delmonico Hotel was presented and read, and it was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Smith that the sai license be granted. Upon roll call all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTIONS.
