3. There are too many unen£orcable ordinances in the city at the present time.
4. The city is too small for such legislation.
5. It will be impossible to enforce when 40 mill levy comes into effect.
6. Cost of getting signs, printing, and other necessary equipment preparatory to
attompting enforcement.
It is also class legislation, in that one class of citizens are privileged to

It was moved by Councilman Aubert and seconded by Councilman Townsend that said veto
message be engrossed upon the minutes. Upon roll call all seven Councilmen voted in the
affirmative and motion was declared carried.
Motion to Re -Consider:
Councilman Aubert moved the re -consideration of the previous vote on the parking ordi-
nance passed at the last session of the Counbil. MOtion.wa3 seconded by Councilman McGee,
and upon roll call Councilmen Lafferty, Lammers, Miller, Aubert, Townsend and McGee voted
In the affirmative and Councilman Smith In the negative. Motion declared carried.
Ordinance Passed over Mayor's Veto:
It was then moved by Councilman Aubert and seconded by Councilman McGee that the said
parking ordinance be passed over the :Sayor's veto. Discussion followed, and, upon a call
for the question, Councilmen Lafferty, Lammers, Miller, Aubert, Townsend and McGee voted in
the affirmative and Councilman Smith in the negative. Motion declared carried.
The following is a full, true and correct copy of said Ordinance as passed by the City
Council over the 5:ayorfs veto this 7th day of March, 1933, to -wit:
ORDINANCE NO. 1024
AN ORDINANCE fixing hours of standing or parking of motor or other vehicles on parts
of certain streets of the City of Port Townsend, and providing a penalty for the violation
thereof.
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, 71'ashington, do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person to stand or park any motor or
other vehicle for a loncor period at any one time than two hours between the hours of eight
otclock A.M. and six ofclock P.M., on any day except holidays and Sundays, on Water Street
extending from Tyler Street to Quincy Street; on Adpms Street extending from Washington
Street to 'later Street; on Taylor Street extending from Yashington Street to Front Street,
and on '17ashington Strect extending from Taylor Street to Adams Street.
Sbetion 2. That with the consent of the owners of property abutting on any parts of
streets mentioned in section one of this ordinance, the Mayor, Chief of Police and Chair-
man if the Street Committee, acting together, are hereby granted the power and authority
to designate zones for taxi cabs and auto buses to stand or park, on any of the parts of
streets mentioned in section one of this ordinance, such designation to be in writing and
filed with the City Clerk; provided, however, that such taxi cabs and auto buses shall not
be subject to the hours of standing or parking, as provided for in section one of this
ordinance, and provided further, that physicians be allowed to park their- auto's at all
hours without time limit.
Section 3. That it shall be unlawful for any person to stand or park any motor or othe
vehicle used in the delivery of goods, wares and merchandise, on any of the parts of
streets named in section one of this ordinance, for any longer period than sufficient time
to load or unload such goods, wares and. merchandise.
Section 4. That any person convicted for the violation of this ordinance shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon such conviction shall be fined not less than One
Dollar or more than 'three Dollars, including costs of court.
Section b. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader, and to
take effect five days from and after the date of such publication.

NEW BUSINESS
Parking Signs:
Councilman Aubert brought up the matter of parking signs in connection with the Park-
ing Ordinance and moved, seconded by Councilman LlcGee, that the matter of securing signs
be referred to the Police Comumittee for investigation and for report back to the Council.
Strect Sign Gone:
Councilman Lafferty reported that one of the stop signs at Lawrence and 'Tyler had been
removed, but was informed that the sign had been located and would be re -installed.

proposal of Harry L. Brown be accepted as being the lowest and best bid. Motion declared
carried.
City Mapscto be Ordered:
It was reported by the City Clerk that he had received several requests for the
reduced scale map of the City of Port Townsend, and it was moved by Councilman 'Townsend and
seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the City Clerk be authorized to order a supply of said
blue print maps for resale. Motion declared carried.
