General Discussion:
Councilman Smith brought up the matter of street leases to the affect that all should
be brought up to date and fees collected.
Councilman Lafferty spoke of the matter of dog licenses, reminding the Council that
dog licenses are now due and that an earnest effort should be made to collect same.
ADUOURNMENT
Upon motion of Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman Lafferty, Council adjourned.

Minutes of the Regular Session of January 17th, 1933.
Port Townsend, Washington, January 17th, 1933.
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular session this
17th day of January, 1933, at 7:30 P. M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Council-
man Wm. Lammers, President Pro Tem, presiding.
ROLL CALL
Upon roll call there were present City Attorney Jae. W. B. Scott, City Clerk C. F.
Christian and Councilmen C. P. Aubert, Geo. F. Townsend, Samuel McGee, W. S. Lafferty and
Wm. Lammers, Sr. Mayor Bangerter and Councilman Miller arrived later in the session.
Councilman Smith was absent because of illness.
MINUTES APPROVED
The minutes of the regular session of January 5th, 1933, were read and approved as read.
Bangerter and Miller Arrived:
y Mayor Geo. Bangerter and Councilman Jacob Miller arrived during the reading of the
minutes and took their places in the Council.

Under reports of the officers, Mayor Bangerter announced the appointment of the follow-

Appointment of Officers:
Mayor Bangerter also announced appointive officers and employees, as follows:
Elmer Compton, as Chief of Police;
R. S. Weppner, as Patrolman;
J. J. Lafferty, as Chief of the Fire Department; and
Roy Seavey and Wayne Albright, as Fire Truck Drivers.
The Mayor then appointed the present Park Board, Joe Kirkpatrick, Col. John L.
i+s Hughes and Mrs. Emma With to succeed themselves; add upon the petition of the Library Board
t ' the Mayor also appointed Mrs. Harry L. Brown as a member of the Library Board to succeed

herself.
Mayor's Address and Resolutions:
Mayor Bangerter stated that owing to certain circumstances he would forego his usual
inauguration speech. He recommended that the legislature be petitioned to change the lo-
cation of the Olympic Highway so that it would read into and through the City of Port Town-
send. The Mayor reported that he had attended a convention of the mayors of the cities of
the State of Washington, in Seattle, and read to the Council a resolution adopted by said
meeting recommending that a certain percentage of the state gas'tax be allocated to the
ppp cities of the state.

City Attorney on Damage Suite:
City Attorney, Jas. W. B. Scott, reported that he had secured a continuance of the
hearing on damage suits against the City of Port Townsend thereby keeping out of this and
former sessions of the court, as delay was favorable to the cityts cause.

The report of the City Treasurer for the month of December, 1932, was presented, read
5 5i, and referred to the Finance Committee.
Water Superintendent's Report:
iy I� The report of the Water Superintendent for the month of December, 1932, was presented,
read and referred to the Water Committee.
Main Line Meter Readings:
s? The report of the Water Superintendent showing the flow of water through the main line
meters for the period ending January 16th was presented, read and ordered filed.
