(Requisitions continued) The said requisition was referred to the Police and License committee for investigation and report. UNFINISHED:ANDNEW BUSINESS. TO COLLECT FOR SEINER AND WATER CONNECTIONS. Councilman Lammers brought up the matter of recovering the costs of putting in sewer laterals from Harrison St. to Tyler St., where State Highway pavement was laid, and also the net cost of Copper water services wherever installed and stated that in his belief, an effort should be made to collect these amounts from the property owners benefitted. Af- ter some consideration of the matter, it was moved by Councilman Starrett and seconded by Councilman Lammers that statements be sent for the amounts charged for said sewer laterals and said copper water services by the City Clerk and the Water Department respectively. Motion declared carried. STARRETT EXCUSED. At hie request, Councilman Starrett was excused from further at- tondance at this session. CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS. The City Clerk reported that all returns of the recent primary election were on hand and presented 'same to the City Council, accompanied by the following affidavit: City Clerks Affidavit on Primary Election Returns. STATE OF WASHINGTON ) COUNTY OF JEFFERSON ) SS. CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND) I, C, F. Christian, City Clark of said City, do solemnly swear that the returns pur- porting to be the Primary Election Returns of the several wards in the said city and here- with presemted before the City Council of said city, have been in no wise changed by alter- ations, additions or erasures since being delivered to me by the election officers for the said Primary Election and that they are the same as when I received them. C. F. Christian, City Clerk. Subscribed and sworn to before me this 15th day of November, 1932. George Bangerter, Mayor. Tellers: Mayor Bangerter thereupon appointed Councilmen Lammers, Smith, Miller and Peach as Tellers to canvass the said returns. The said Tellers then made and completed the said canvass and reported their findings to the Mayor, who thereupon submitted the following STATEMENT OF CANVASS OF RETURNS, to -wit STATEMENT OF CANVASS OF RETURNS OF CITY PRIMARY ELECTION. CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND) Statement of Canvass made by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend of the re- turns of the Primary Election held on the Bth day of November, 1932, for the purpose of nominating candidates for the following respective offices, namely; Mayor, City C1erk,City Attorney, City Treasurer, Councilman at Large, Councilman for First Ward, Councilman for Second Ward and Councilman for Fourth Ward, to be voted for at the Municipal Election to be held in the said City of Port Townsend, State of Washington, on the 6th day of December, 1932. Confirming the foregoing statement, a resolution was submitted, and read, as follows: 7 R E 8 0 L U T I 0 N. ` Resolution Declaring Result of Primary Election. WHEREAS: The returns of the Primary Election held in the City of Port Townsend, State C of Washington, on the 8th day of November, 1932, for the purpose of nominating persons for the offices of Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk, City Treasurer, Councilman at Large, a Councilman for the First Ward, a Councilman for the Second Ward, and a Councilman for the Fourth Lard of said City of Port Townsend have been duly and regularly filed with the City I ' Clerk of said city, and by him presented before the City Council of said city, and, j WHEREAS: Th6dsaid Primary Election returns on this 15th day of November, 1932, at a regular session of the City Council have been duly and regularly canvassed and the accom- panying statement of said canvass, containing the whole number of votes cast for any per- son for any office and for what office has been duly made and signed by the presiding of- !,•,. ficer of the City Council, namely; George Bangerter, Mayor, and attested by C.F.Christian, City Clerk; and WHEREAS: By said Statement and Canvass aforesaid it appears that for the nomination for the office of Mayor, Citizens Party, George Bangerter has received a plurality of the votes cast, namely; 662 out of a total of 1516 cast for the nomination for said office of Mayer. That for the nomination for the office of City Attorney, Citizens Party, Jas. W. B. Scott has received a majority of the votes cast, that is to say he has received 1190 votes out of a total of 1516 votes cast for the nomination for said Office of City Attorney. That for the nomination for the office of City Clerk, Citizens Party, C.F.Chriatian has received a majority of the votes cast, that is to say he has received 1297 votes out of a total of 1516 votes cast for said office of City Clerk. That for the nomination for the office of City reasurer, Citizens Party, Harriet E. Dobbs has received a majority of the votes cast, that is to say she has received 1305 votes out of a total of 1616 votes cast for the nomination for said office of City 'reasurer. That for the nomination for the office of Councilman at Large, Citizens Party, C. P. Aubert has received a majority of the votes cast, that is to say he has received 917 votes out of a total of 1516 votes cast for the nomination for said office of Councilmen at Large. That for the nomination for the office of Councilman for the First Ward, Citizens Part , George F. 'that for the nomination for the office of Councilman for the Second Ward, Citizens par- ty, Samuel MgGee has received a majority of the votes cast, that is to say he has received 233 votes out of a total of 288 votes cast for the nomination for said office of Council- man for the Second Ward. That for the nomination for the office of Councilman for the Fourth Ward, Citizens Par- ty, Wm. Lammers,Sr., has received a majority of the votes cast, that is to say he has recei- ved 267 votes out of a total of 329 votes cast for the nomination for said office of Coun- cilman for the Fourth Ward. THEREVORE, By the City Council of the City of Port 'Townsend, Washington, on this 15th day of November, 1932, it is RESOLVED AND DECREED, that the said George Bangerter has been duly and regularly nominated for the office of Mayor of the City of Port Tm nsend by Citi- zens Party. That Jas. W. B. Scott has been duly and regularly nominated for the office of City At- torney of the City of Port Townsend by Citizens Party. That C.
