Charles Brown, being accorded the privilege of addressing the Council, askeddfor mare time to pay for water without having the service shut off, as a number of patrons war out of work and found it impossible to meet the water bills. City Attorney Scott advised the Council that the matter was governed wholly by the 'rdinances 'of the City and that the administration of the Water Department vrae in the province of the atar Superintendent. Also, that if the Superintendent extended any time Water or le&18ncy:rin the matter of delinquent accounts, a did son. Superintendent Green stated that at his own risk. Some dis- cussion followed but no action of any ]rind was take the situation was serious in some respects and that he considered it unfair to put the whole problem up to him. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. Resolved by the City Council, as provided for, and authorized by, Section thirty-thre of Chapter 164, 1915 Session Lavers of the Legislature of the State of Washington, the City Treasurer of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, is hereby fully authorized and directs Se to invest the sum of $1,500.00 from the Bond aedemption Fund, Second Issue thereof, in the purchase of '1932 Current Expense Fund warrants, in said amount, issued within the budget, but not paid for want of money in the current expense fund; and be it likewise further Resolved, that the City Treasurer U. hereby fully authorized and directed to invest the sum of $1,500.00 from the Olympic U.ravity "star P1und, in the purchase of 1932 Current Expense &hnd warrants, in said amount, issued within the budget, but not paid for reaant of money in the current expense fund; and that the City Clerk deliver to the City a copy of this resolution. 1$32 Approved by Adopted by the yCouncil mayor , 1932 App ayor Attest: ty er R . Smith arrived at this time and thereafter took part in the proceedings of the Council. Bills ordered paid. It was moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Councilman Laf- ferty that the said claims be allowed and that the MFIyor and the City Clerk be authorized to dray warrants upon the proper funds in payment of same, Upon Roll Call, all six coun- cilman present voted in the�laffirmative and motion was declared carried. REPORTS OF OFFICERS. Greene Claim. City Attorney Jan. W B. Scott advised the Council that a Mr. °reeve whose iiFir's_cis3m^for approximately $5000.00 for damages had been rejected by the Council, had brought suit for $10250.00 damages and the same was pending against the City and the Port Townsend Southern Railroad Company.
