MAIN LINE METER REPORT.
City Engineer Sadler submitted a report of the flow of water through the main line
meters for the period ending June 27th, 1932 and it visa ordered that the report be filed.

The foregoing reports of the viater Committee and Finance Committee were ordered filed
REPORT ON PROPOSED SALARY REDUCTIQNS.
Councilman Starrett reported verbally that the Finance Committee had visited the save:
al appointive officers and employees of the city in relation to the proposed reduction in
salaries for the remainder. of the fiscal year and found them all favorable toward accept-
ing the proposed reductions and that they would sign waivers to that efrect. Also that
the elective officers had signified that they would accept less than the legal compensatio
for the remainder of the fiscal year, owing to the deficit in the Current Expense Fund, as
officer to make his own proposition to the Council.
Form of Waiver. Councilman Starrett then presented the following form of waiver as
apply ng o e appointive officers and employees, to -wit:
"To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
of the City of Port Townsend, Washington.
Agreement: That I, as of the City of Port Townsend, do hereby agree t
accept the sum of $ per-'.mon or per diem as the case may be), in full compensa-
tion and payment of any service rendered in such capacity, beginning with and on the first
day of July, 1932, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1932; and that the Mayor and Ci
Clerk of said city are hereby authorized to draw warrants payable to me in accordance with
this agreement. That I hereby pledge my honor never to claim or demand any further pajr,
as may be provided for by the City Budget for the year 1932, if any.
Dated this - day of July, 1932.
Clerk to type forms: It was then moved by Councilman Starrett and seconded by Coun-
cilman LafTerty that e City Clerk be instructed, to type 10 01, 12 copies of the said form
and turn them over to the Mayor of the City who shall request the appointive officers and
employees to sign the same. Motion declared carried.
SALARIES OF HEALTH OFFICER AND POLICE JUSTICE REDUCED.
Councilman Starrett called the attention of the Council to the fact that the offices
of Health Officer and Police Justice had been overlooked when voting on proposed salary re-
ductions for other appointive officers and employees and that Mayor Bangerter had expressed
his approval of a proposed reduction in the salaries of the said officers.
It was then moved by Councilman Starrett and seconded by Councilman Miller that the
salary of the City Health Officer be reduced from $200.00 to $180.00 for the current fiscal
year, and the salary of the Police Justice be reduced from $25.00 to $20.00 per month for
the remainder of the fiscal year.
Upon roll call, all five councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was
declared carried.
LEASE GRANTED TO FRED L. WYCKOFF.
Reporting favorably on the application of Fred L. Wyckoff to lease a portion of 8th
Street (between the outside lines of Kuhn and Landes Sts), in the Eisenbeis Addition, it
was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Miller that the said applicatio
for lease be granted and that the Mayor and the City Clark be authorized to execute the sai
lease. Motion declared carried.
WATER MAIN BLUE PRINTS ORDERED.
Bringing up the recommendation of City Engineer Sadler that blue prints of maps he had
made showing location of valves, copper services, hydrants, etc., on the water mains, be
ordered for the use of the Water and Fire Departments, it was moved by Councilman Lafferty
and seconded by Councilman Miller that the City Engineer be authorized to haveethe said btu,
prints made. Motion declared carried.
BUILDING PERMITS. Application for Building permit was presented and read, as fol
lows:
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Port Townsend, 711ashington, June 30, 1932
Port Townsend, Wash.
Gentlemen:
Permission is requested to re -shingle the roof and part of walls of my residence
situate in the 0. C. Hastings Addition. Cost of materials is estimated at $50.00.

It was moved by Councilman Miller and seconded by Councilman Smith thattthe said per-
mit be granted. Motion declared carried.
COMMUNICATIONS.
WIM. G. MAPLETHORPE ACCIDENT CLAIM ALLOWED.
Form letters from the Department of Labor and IndusttQes were presented, showing that
the claim of Wm. G. Maplethorpe for time loss on account of injury veceived while in the
employ of the city, had been allowed and that he had been awarded the sum of $97.75 from thi
accident fund in final settlement of his claim. Said letters were ordered filed.
REQUEST FROM PUGET SOUND NAVIGATION COMPANY.
Communication from Puget Sound Navigation Company was presented and read, as follows:
