At a meeting of the Honorary Board of the Port Townsend Volunteer Fire Depsrtment,held
on the 6th day of May, 1932, in accordance with the wishes of the Mayor and City Council to
reduce expenses (upon recommendation of the State Examiner), the following members were des
ignated as Active and Honorary members, to -with
Active List: Peter Norby, H. A. Hamilton. A. Fraser, I. 0. Brown, J. K. Metzger, H.E.
Gleason, . Anderson, C. H. Baker, Roy Dale, J. H. Siebenbaum, J. J. Smith, Frank Revell

It was moved by Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilman Peach that the said list
of members of the Volunteer Fire yepartment be accepted. Upon roll call, all five Coun-
cilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
FROM FRED L. WYCKOFF, RE: STREET LEASE.
Application of Fred L. Wyckoff for lease of certain streets was presented and read as
follows:
To the Honorable Mayor and Council of the Port Townsend, Washington, June 15, 1932
City of Port Townsend.
I hereby make application for the use of part of 8th Street, from the East side
of Kuhn St., to the West side of Landes St., in the Eisenbeis Addition, for agricultural
purposes, beginning July 1st, 1932, and I offer to pay $1.00 per year for the legal use
thereof.

FROM OLYMPIC PILE DRIVING CO. RE: TAYLOR STREET FILL AND BULKHEAD.
A communication from the Olympic Pile Driving Co., requesting cooperation of the city
in certain work to be done at the foot of Taylor Street, was presented, and read, as fol-
lows:
Honorable Mayor and City Council, Port Townsend, Washington, June 18th, 1932
Port Townsend, Washington.
Gentlemen:
We have been awarded the contract for rebuilding the dock and approach of the Pu-
get Sound Navigation Company and respectfully request the permission of your body to have +:
the City Engineer lay out the center lines on the dock and street grades.
We also request the cooperation of the City in the matter of building a bulkhead
from Front Street to the Central Hotel and Hastings Building by rendering assistance thru
its Street Department equipment and also in the use of city water to wash down and settle
the earth in the street fill.

In compliance with Chapter 158, Laws of 1923, we bog to advise we estimate the
amount necessary to include in the Budget for examination of the General Accounts of your
city for the year 1933 will be approximately $200.00.
The foregoing amount should be included in your Budget and you are kindly reques-
ted to make provision for same.

MAYOR'S MESSAGE RE: SALARY REDUCTIONS.
Reverting to Order of Business of Communications, Mayor Bangerter submitted a message
which was read, as follows:

To the City Council,
Port Townsend, Washington.
Gentlemen:
In support of my letter of recommendation to you dated June 7th, which you unani-
mously endorsed, I hereby offer the following resolution recommending the salary reductions
for all appointive officers and employees necessary to ,assist in balancing the city budget
of the remainder of the current year.
