Commdnication from Jas. H. Coyne requesting extension of time on contract, was presented and read,as follows: Port Townsend, Wash., March 15, 1832 Subject: Constructing Improvements to Olympic Gravity Water System Honorable Mayor and City Council, City of Port Townsend, Washington. Gentlemen: - The inclement weather of this winter has caused numerous suspensions of the pros ecution of the work in connection with the general repairs to the city reservoirs under my contract with the city dated November 12th, 1931. Phisterer, Fort Warden, requesting authority to lag cable in city streets was piciesented and read, as follows: Subject: Cable Right of Way.Fort 'Borden, Washington, March 9, 1932. To: The Honorable Mayor and City Council of Port Townsend, Washington. 1. Authority is requested to lay a subterranean cable in a trench two feet deep, from terminal pole #25, on 47th St., Port Townsend, Washington, to the Brest secondary stations on military reservations, Hendricks St. This cable will traverse the following streets as lshown on the enclosed blueprint. From terminal pole #25, along north side of 47th St, to San Juan Avenue, thence, north side of 49th St. to Kuhn St., east side of Kuhn St. to 53rd ,St., north side of 53rd St., to Hendricks St. to military reservation. j2. It is estimated that the work will not extend over a period of mobe than twenty day: IThe •work will be so conducted as to interfere as little as possible with traffic. All road: land streets will be restored to original condition immediately on completion of work. Upon roll call, all save y[Yles: i Councilmen voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried. Third fteading. The City Clerk thereupon read the said proposed ordinance by title on- yz+ ly fo-r EFeTERTr reading. ��- + rt_ rsrtl Motion to defer. It was moved by Councilman Starrett and seconded by Councilman Al- drich that final ac ion on the proposed ordinance be deferred to the next regular session and that the matter be referred to a committee for investigation relative to the possible �j y'+itj F;a Hi remtal value of streets for such purposes and to report with recommendations at the next regular session. Motion declared carried and matter referred to the Harbor and Health Committee. Commercial 'Trucks. Councilman Lafferty brought up the matter of licensing commercial trucks from out of t67n business firms and the matter was referred to the Police and Licens Committee. Fire Truck Insurance.
