Coyne, Contractor for Improvements Olympic Gravity .",ater System has about completed his work on the pipe lines and will be ready in a few days for inspection by the City Council or a committee thereof. I mould recommend that this prt of the viork be accepted as soon as the Council has made its inspection and is satisfactory to them. The reservoir will not be ready for acc:entance until a later date; the work havinj been held up on account of the bad weather. vouaa very truly, J. Councilman Starrett of the special committee on paving reported that progress was be made through a committee of the C)3amber of Commerce who were canvassing the proper ty owners in the district proposed to be paved. Bail e _;;a er Service: Councilman Lafferty, reporting on the cummunicatioi of Fred J. Bailey re a ve o ciu:•ges for water, stated that under the terms of the lease with the National Paper Products Co., Me. Bailey is being allowed to take water for his own use only and with the distinct proviso that he is not to furnish others from his line. Councilman Lafferty then moved, seconded by Councilman Miller that the City Clerk be instructed to write to Sir. Bailey and inform him of his status in the matter as stated above. Motion ildeclared carried. f Councilman S.. V. Peach arrived just prior to consideration of the above and thereafter took pnrt in the procce ngs o t e Council. Fred Lewis Water Pipe. Reporting on the application of Fred G. Lewis for a larger water pipe to his res ence on ,'.organ Hill, Councilman Lafferty stated that such a line would be for Mr. Lewis' use only and that following the rules of the Water fiefs rtment, the City would lay the pipe to the street line and that a larger pipe line and a larger tap at the main should be at the user's expense. It was then moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Starrett that Mr. Lewis shin ld be advised to that effect. Motion declared carried. Mrs. Revello oomolnint: Councilman "'. B. TENNIS CLUB COMPLAINT. A communication from the Port Townsend Tennis Club relative to their courts, was (The City Council, presented and read, as follows: Port Townsend, Wash., February 29. 1932 City of Port Townsend, Port Townsend, Vlash. ;Gentlemen: I have been instructed by the President of the Port Townsend Tennis Club to write you regarding the leakage from one of the city water lines into the Tennis Courts belonging to the Club. 'The courts are located on Taylor and Lincoln Streets and we believe the pipe running down Lincoln Street on the side of Mr. Allan Trumbullts home is leaking, and thus c causing water to form in the back of our courts. malting play impossible. i 1 P. e H 251 MINUTES OF MARCH let, 1932, continued. A communication from Fred D. Chesnut, Chief Examiner, transmitting copy of Fourteenth examination of the records of the city, with comments on same, was presented and read, as follows: Olympia, Washington, February 1, 1932 Mr. C. F. Christian, City Clerk, Port Townsend, Washington. Dear Mr. Christian: - Enclosed please find copy of report of fourteenth examination of th City of Port Townsend, Jefferson County, Washington, covering period from May 1, 1930, to October 31, 1931. It is noted on page 9 of the report that the balance as per bank certificate as of October 31, 1931 was $105,269.17, whereas the security was only 5p107,800.00. We presume that the bank balance is considerably reduced at this time, but wish to call attention to the fact that the Treasurer should have sufficient security at all times upon which the full amount of the deposits of the City could be realized if such an occasion should arise. ANd thereafter presided. GLENDALE DAIRY BUILDING PERMIT. Dear Sirs: - The Glendale Dairy has recently purchased the brick building, known as the TUCKER BLOCK. located on the corner of Water and Adams Streets, asks the permission if you HONORABLE CITY COINCIL to completely renovate and reconstruct the INTERIOR of said buildin so as to permit it to be fitted for a strictly SANITARY and modern creamery; also the build- ing of a driveway on the EAST side of the building fronting on 'Hater Street, we also de- sire permission to construct a boiler room at the rear of said building, this will be small and built of corrugated iron. This addition will conform with the Fire Insurance Company's Form of Boiler Safety. Your acceptance of this request will be greatly appreciated. Respectfully, Per Paul H. Sather, Mgr. Motion declared carried. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. Standard Oil Co. Wharf vranchise. The Standard Oil Company of California presented a proposeT ordinance granting the said company a franchise to operete:.t and maintain a whi at the foot of Harrison Street, the said proposed ordinance being entitled as follows: "An Ordinance granting to Standard Oil Company of California, a Delaware Corporation and its assigns the right to operate and maintain a wharf at the terminus of Harrison Str, in the City of Port Townsend and to charge and collect tolls for the use of the same." Said proposed ordinance was read in full And in accordance with the statutes and the rules of the City Council, was laid over for a period of not less than five days. UNFINISHED AND NEC( BUSINESS.
