This being the time set for opening bids for odllection and disposal of garbage and" rubbish, bids submitted were opened and read, as follows: From Harry Hansen to -wit: Mr. C. F. Christian, City Clerk, Port Townsend, Wash., January 19, 1932 � Port Townsend, ':;ash. Due to a decrease in the collections on the hauling of garbage and rubbish, 1 hereby bid $25.00 dollars for the hauling and disposing of all garbage and rubbish in the City of Port Townsend. In addition I wish to state that I will keep the city dump well burned and in a first citass state of police during the period of this contract. Harry Hanson. From F. H. Lammers, to -wit: Sirs:- Port 'Townsend, Hash., January 19, 1932 In accordance with the call for proposals for the privilege of hauling and dispo- sing of all garbage and rubbish within the city limits of Port Townsend for the ensuing year, the undersigned agrees to pay $150.00, and the care and maintenance of garbage dump shall be at bidders expense. The bidders further agrees to give the down -town district three garbage collections per week; the collection days shall be Monday, Wednesday and Bri- day of each week. F. 11. Lammers. From Chas. J. Dear Sirs:- I will haul the city garbage for one year according to the city ordinance, and pay $50.00 fot the privilege and will also take care of the dumping goounds on North beach and see that the tide will take away most of the garbage. Opening bids for supplying the City with gasoline and oils for the varibus departments of the city was now declared in order'and the four bids presented were opened in the follow ing order: Standard Oil Company, Gasoline at dealer's price at time of delivery. Motor Oil at various prices according to grade. Union Oil Company. Gasoline at dealer's price at time of delivery :rotor Oil at various prices according to grade. Shell Oil Company. Gasoline at dealer's price at time of delivery. Motor Oil at various prices according to grade. Ricjjfield Oil Co. Gasoline at a maximum price of 16� with benefit of reduction if Martin Bros, market is below 16¢ at time of delivery. Motor Oil at various prices according to grade. All of said bids were referred to the Finance Committee for investigation and report. Garbage Contract Awarded. Councilman Starrett, chairman of the Harbor and Health Com- mittee, raper e t a e considered the bid of F. H. Lammers for garbage disposal as the best bid, and made a motion, seconded by Councilman Miller that the contract be awarded to the said F. H. Lammers, subject to furnishing a surety bond in the sum of $100.00, and that the Mayor and the City Clark be authorized to execute the said contract. Upon roll call, Councilmen Peach, Miller and Starrett voted in the affirmative and Coun Oilman Lammers was excused from voting. Motion declared carried. ADJOURNMENT. Upon motion of Councilman Peach, seconded by Councilman Starrett, Council adjourned.
