ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. GRADES ON GARFIELD STREET. An ordinance, prepared from data furnished by City Engineer Sadler and entitled; "An Ordinance estab- lishing street grades on Garfield Street from the Westerly line of Adams Street to the center line of Monroe Street in the City of Port Townsend, Washington, and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith," wan now presented and road in full for the first reading. Upon rollccall, all seven councilmen voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried. T_hi_r�d tteadi The City Clerk then read the said ordinance by title only for the third reading and it was moved by Colman Peach and seconded by Councilman Lammers that said ordinance do now pass. Upon roll call, all seven councilmen voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. ORDINANCE AS PASSED. The following is a full, true, and correct copy of said Ordinance No. 1008 as passed by the City Coun- cil May 6th, 1931, approved by the Mayor April 6th, 19310 and published in the Port Townsend Leader, May 7th, 1931, to -wit: ORDINANCE NO. 1008 An Ordinance establishing Street Oradea on Garfield Street from the Westerly aide of Adams Street to the center line of Monroe Street in the City of Port Townsend, Washington, and repealing all ordinances or Parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Seotion 1. That the grade of Garfield Street shall be at the following elevations above datums At the intersection of the westerly lino of Adams Street and the center line of Garfield Street produced elevation 96.00. At the intersection of the easterly line of Adams Street and the center line of Garfield Street produced elevation 93.00. At the intersection of the westerly line of Quincy Street and the center line of Garfield Street produ- ced, elevation 87.00. At the intersection of the easterly line of Quincy Street and the center line of Garfield Street produ- ced, elevation 86.00. At the intersection of the westerly line of Madison Street and the center line of Garfield Street pro- duced, elevation 82.48. At the intersection of the easterly line of Madison Street and the center line of Garfield Street pro- duced, elevation 81.33. At the intersection of the westerly line of Monroe Street and the center line of Garfield Street pro- duoed, elevation 75.00. At the interanotion of the center line of Monroe Street and the center line of Monroe Street produced, elevation 76.00. . Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance br and the game are hereby repealed. Section 3. That this Ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader and to take effect and be in forgo five (5) days from and after such publication. Passed by the City Council May 6th, 1931. Kramer presented a request, on behalf of the Quartermaster's Department at Fort Worden, to obtain a certain amount of gravel from the pits owned by the City, for use at Fort Worden. The request was referred to the Street Committee. I I 143 of RECESS. It was moved by Councilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the Council rescue for a e short period. Motion carried and reason declared. .COUNCIL RECONVENES, and ROLL CALL. The Council reconvened at 10 o'clock p.m., And upon roll call there were present Mayor George Bangerter City Attorney Jae. W. B. Scott, City Clerk C. F. Chri6tian and Councilmen Clark Aldrich, S. V. Peach, W. B. Smith, Wm. Lammers Sr., 17. S. Lafferty, Jacob Miller and E. Morris Starrett. NEW BUSINESS. 1 1 e Gravel for Fort Worden. Continuing under order of New Business, it was moved by Councilman Smith and sec- onded by Councilman Aldrich that the authorities at Fort Warden be allowed to take gravel from the City pit in Dundee Place; that they keep and leave the pit in good condition and that a charge of 26je per cu. yd. be made for the gravel taken. Motion declared carried/ Pipe Line Inspection Trip. Councilman. Starrett stated that arrangements had been made for all who desired to make the trip along the pipe line from the Big Quilcone River, for inspection purposed, to go out a weak from the coming Sunday for this purpose, or that arrangements had been made to take care,over night at the watchman's cabin, of the who preferred to go out on Saturday.
