Yinutes of Regular Session of Apr. 21/31 continued

AND BE IT FURTHER P.ESOLVEDs That the said paving or hard surfacing projects be generally described and loca-
ted as follows subject to any changes the .City Council or committees may elect,
Area 1 - Water and Washington Streets between Adams and Tyler, inclusive, and including Taylor.
Area' 2 - Water and Washington Streets between Tyler and Monroe, inclusive of all crone streets.
Area 3 - Lawrence Street between Harrison and Monroo Streets.
Area 4 - City Arterial and Fort Worden Routes:
a. - Washington to State Highway at Kearney
b. - Benton from Washington to Fort Worden
c. - Monroe, from Water to Blaine (City Park)
d. - Taylor, from Jefferson to Benton vin Maple Avenue.
Councilman Starrett then stated that the object in presenting this resolution was to show the property
owners and others that the City Council was alive to the situation and that the t approximate coats, the possi-
ble methods of financing such a project, eto., would be be assembled and then it would be up to the property
owners to decide as to further procedure.
It was than moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Councilman Lammers that said recoultion be adopted
Upon roll call, all five councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
Dog Pound. Mayor Bangerter brought up the matter of collection of dog licenses and stated that an offer
(would be made to enforce the payment of licenses for all dogs and the destruction of all unlicensed dogs.
Some discussion was had relative to a pound and poundmoster but do definite notion t{aa token.
UNFINISHED AND NEP7 BUSINESS.
Port Commission Project.
Mayor Bangerter brought up the matter of the inquiry of the U.S. Engineer in rein-'
tion to the Small Boat Haven projedt of the Port Townsend Port Commission and it was moved by Councilman
Starrett and seconded by Councilman Peach that the City Council approve the Port Commission work. Motion
declared carried.
Re: Insurance on Trucker
The City Clerk brought up the matter of placing insurance on the Street Dorf.
and the Plater Dept- Trucks, advising that funds had been provided in the budget for that purpose.
The. matter was referred to the Finance Committee to report at the next regular session.
Street Light for Garfilld and Walker:
Councilman Peach brought up the matter of the petition for a street
light at the intersection of Garfield and Walker Streets, and moved that the petition be granted nod that the
City Clark be instructed to notify the Puget Sound Power and Light Co. to install a street light at the said
location. Uotion me secodded by Councilman Lafferty and upon roll call, all five councilmen present voted
in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
RECESS.
It was moved by Councilman Lammers and Seconded by Councilman Peach that the Council recess for 10 minut
Lotion carried and recess was declared.
COUNCIL RE -CONVENES.
The Council re-convenod at 9:26 P.M., and upon roll call there ware present Mayor George Bangerter, City
Attorney Jan. W. B. Scott, City Clerk C. F. Christian, and Councilmen E. M. Starrett, S. V. Peach, W. B. Smit
... S. Lafferty and William Lammers Sr.
Re: Wood Pite for Contract:
City Engineer Sadler was requested to inform the Council in relation to the wood
pipe to be used in the construction of the new pipe lines. Mr. Sadler stated that they had called on the
representatives of the Federal Pipe and Tank Co. to ascertain if they would quote a bettor price than former
proposals and that they had met with a refusal to out prices. Mr. Sadler stated that they then visited the
plant of the Buffilin Wood -.-Pipe Company and ware assured that a special effort wopld be made to furnish extra
quality material for this job and that the machines would be thoroughly overhauled to insure a first class
quality of pipe. Also that delivery of pipe would bogin in the near future.

Upon motion of Councilmen Peach, seconded by Councilman Smith, council adjourned.
