COUNCIL RECONVENES The City Council reconvened at 10 o'look P.M. and upon roll call there were prevent Mayor George Bangerter, City. Attorney ins. W. B. Soott,.City Clerk C. F. Christian and Councilmen W. S. Lafferty, Wm. Lammers, Sr., E. Morris Starrett, Jacob Miller and W. B. Smith. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS Taking up the matter of bids for wood, it was moved by Councilman Miller and seconded by Councilman 'forty that the contract to supply the City with 20 cords of wood be awarded to Chas. J. Nelson. The wood be in accordance with the terms of the call for bids and subject to inspection by the janitor.. Motion Bo- red carried. i The City Engineer was instructed to obtain the industrial water rate in force in cities of the Class. Lammers, Sr., E. Morrie Starrett and Clark Aldrich. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS Taking up the matter of the suit of George C. Teal and wife vs. the City, City Attorney Jae. Vt. B. made a statement of the probable cost to time City and County if the George C. Teal suit for right of way action should go before the court for trial; estimating the amount to be approximately $300.00 and re- d the City Council to instruct him in relation to bile said suit. After discussing the matter, it was moved by Councilman Lafforty�and eeoMel by Councilman Starrett t City Attorney Scott be authorized to offer the said Teal and wife` or�ie timber, lend and dwnegee�for ht of way for pipe line through the property owned by the said Teal. Upon roll cell all four Councilmen sent voted in the affirmative and motion wan declared carried. La:mnors, Sr., Mayor Pro Tom, pre- siding in the absence of Mayor Bangerter. Roll Call Upon Roll Call there were present City Attorney Jae. Vl. B. Scott, City Clerk C. F. Christian, and Coun- cilmen Vim. Lammers, Jacob Miller, E. Morris Starrett, Clark Aldrich, and S. V. Peachl Counoilman IV. B. Smith and Mayor George Bangerter arriving later during reading of the minutes and Mayor Bangerter thereafter preei- ded. Minutes Approved. The minutes of the regular session of March 3rd, 1931, were road and approved as tend. Bills and Claims. Scott Reports. Prior to taking up consideration of claim for right -of way, City Attorney Jae.W.B.Scott-i made a verbal report on the claim and suit of Goo. C. Teal and wife for compensation for right of way, sta- ting that Mr. Teal and, his attorney had accepted the offer of $200.00 made by the city as settlement if full and that the suit4TA4 k'1 dismissed with prejudice against further claim. 1/.r. Scott then submitted a warran- ty deed from the said George C. Toul and Alma D. Teal, his wife, together with voucher fortthecoaidt$200.00 and stated as a matter of record that he approved the deed. Claims against the City were then presented and disposed of as follows: George C. Teal and Alma D. Teal, of us, Right-of.way $200.00 It was moved by Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilman Lalmors that the said claim be allowed and that the Mayor and the City Clerk bn authorized to draw a warrant upon the proper fund in payment of dame. Upon roll call, all six councilman present voted in vavor thereof and motion was declared carried. D. G. Daly Services asdoruiser, and mileage $ 27.50 It was moved by Councilman Lamers and seconded by Councilman Smith that the said claim be allowed cad that the Mayor and the City Clark be authorized to draw a warrant upon the proper fund in payment of same. Upon roll call, all six councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. REFORTS OF OFFICF.F.S. City Clark. Gasol no ontract. The City Clark reported receipt of contract from Standard Oil Co., of California, for fur- nishing the City with Gasoline and Oils, and same was ordered filed. Water Superintendent. The report of the Superintendent of the grater Department for the month ending February 28th, was presented, read, andreforred to the Water Committee. City Engineer. Motor os City Engineer Sadler submitted reports showing the average flow of water through the main line meters for the period ending }Barth 9th and name were ordered filed. Communication re: Ratos. City Engineer Sadler mods the following report in relation to Industrial Water rates in other cities, to -wit: Port Townsend, Washington, harsh 17, 1931 To the Mayor and City Council, Guntlo;lzn: P»rsuunt to four instructions of March 3, 1931 rogurdinf water rates for industrial purposes, also ordinances governing tho installation of gas plants. I have written to nine different cities in Washington regarding the Induobriul Water Rate. At the present writing, I have had replies fro:dfiva. I will probably hear from the balance this weak.' In regard to the installation of tanks for Gas. I have written to three cities who arc installin the some type as we have here. Two of them have sent me copies of the ordinance granted but they make no mention of any reservoir around the the tanks. I also wrote to the Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau for their requirements on this typo of plant. I received a letter stating that the ,man who handled this work was away at the present time and as soon as he returned my letter would be referred to him for reply. I have those ordinances and the water rates on file in my office and wrould be pleased at any time to go over those with the city council. Yours very truly, W. J. A communication from Union Dock Co. wan presented and road as follows: Port Townsend, Wash. Mar. 16, 1931 His Honor, the ?layer, and City Council, City of Port Townsend, Gentlemen: - We, the Union Dock, petition your Honorable Body to extend the water pipe from the East side Union Doeh to the West side of said dock, a distance of seventy -Live (75) feet and thence South &long the 'Kest side about forty (40) feet; total length extension about one hundred and fifteen (115) foot, The pipe to be either one and one-half or two inches in diameter. The reason for this request is to supply the Townsend -Edmonds ferry steamer with water at Port Townsend. The estimated daily wuty consumption of thin steamer will be about 6000 gallons. it is expected to inaugurate this service on or soon after the first day of April.
