Gentlemen: It has come to my hearing that people living on the Chimaoum-Ludlow road duet off the State High- way, have tapped my water line. The same was put in nearly twenty yearn ago at a coat of $1000.00 dollars, besides an expensive maintenance the last five years until a year ago when the whole line was renewed at a cost of $2,600.00. You will agree if these people are permitted to use water off of a two in. pipe; coming the distance it does, that by the time other patrons who will want to tap the line (if some have already). That there will not be sufficient pressure to answer the purpose for which it was put in for. I respectfully ask your consideration. V 1 I ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTIONS Water Bond Improvement Funds 121 The following resolution was presented and read to the City .Council, toawit: R E S 0 L U T I 0 N. Resolved, by the City Council that there be and is hereby created a fund to be known as the WATER BOND IMPROVEMENT FUND, and all moneys received from the sale of 049,000 of Port Townsend General Indebtedness 1931 Water Bonds be placed to the credit of said Fund, and all coat and expense in making such improvement end a3�oen -al and in connection thereto, as authorized by Ordinance No. 997, be paid out of said Fund by warrant drawn upon the said Fund. Also that a copy of this resolution bofurnished the City Treasurer. Adopted by the City Council, March 3rd, 1931. ATTEST, C. F. CHRISTIAN City er . It was moved by Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilmen Lammers that said resolution be adopted.' Upon roll call all five Councilman present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Emergency Ordinance Introduced: An emergency ordinance to cover the cost of certain improvements on Blaine Street was submitted and read in full, as follows: ORDINANCE NO. An Ordinance declaring an emergency appropriation and expenditure in the sum of $ for the cost and ,expense of the improvement of that part of Blaine Street between Harrison and an —Buren Streets, and authority to issue emergency warrants in said sum in payment therefor, Whereas, it duly appearing to the city council that, at the present time, the public travel and traffic, require the improvement of that part of Blaine Street between Harrison and Van Buren Street, by excavating and grading the came, at a cost not exceed the sum of $ , and which contingent event in that part of the city in relating to public travel and traffic, ooul a3 oMoT have been foreseen that the time of the adopt- ion of the budget for street purposes for the year 1931, and that an emergency exists for such purpose, and the authority to issue emergency warrants in said sum in payment of such improvement; Now therefore, The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, do ordain as follows: Section 1. That an emergency appropriation and expenditure in hereby authorized in the sum of $ , for the cost and expense of the improvement of Blaine Street between Harrison and Van Buren Street a, ae arm eat forth in this ordinance, and that improvement is hereby authorized as an emergency, and emergency war- rants in said sum hereby authorized to issue for such purpose. Section 2. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Loader, and take effect and be in force five (6) days after such publication. Passed by the City Council - , 1931. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS This being the date set for opening of bids for wood for the City Hall, bide submitted in accordance the advertisement, were opened and read, as follows: .Joe Kawsmoto, to -wit, C. Sirs I hereby propose to furnish the City of Port Townsend with 20 cords of live, sound old growth fir to be delivered to the City Hall in 10 cord lots as ordered and out in 12 inch lengths for the sum of .50.
