December 18, 1930 - Built a 9 ft. x 9 ft. log and shake tool house at Station 668-00. September 6, 1930 - Installed a 12" air vent on the 16" overflow line out of City Lake Reservoir and screen chamber. November 22, 1930 - New Work at Cit Lake in ordor to raise level ten feet. This consisted of clearing lake shore, putting a 10 . ex ens or -on' on e 8 no over ow p po ou o e lake and building a 300 ft. earth dyke - Coat $2,800.00 December 3, 1930 - Made hooessary repairs on te.nporary living quarters. October 10, 1930 - Built a now road from the lake to the scroen Chamber. October lb, 1930 - Cleared off and put Coder logs on now building site for a log cabin living quar- ters near sorcen Chamber. Said oommunications and Maintenance Report were referred to the Water Committee. REQUISITIONS. 20 Cords Wood. A requisition for 20 cords of wood for the City Hall was presented end .read and it was moved by,-CcuhoilmAp. Lammbro^and seconded by Councilman Miller that the requisition be granted and that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for 20.cords of live, Bound, old growth fir wood, out in 12 inch lengths, delivered in 10-oord lots as ordered and that the bide be opened at the regular session of March 3rd Upon roll Call, all six Councilmen present voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried. Grass Seed end Map; Councilman E. M. Starrett presented a verbal requisition for a nap bitytmap for the Council Chamber and for Grass send for the park areas in the City Hall sidewalks -and moved, seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the requisition be Gr anted. It was moved by Councilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Peach that the first reading be considered the second reading and that the third reading be by title only.. Upon roll call, all six Councilman present, namely; W. B. Smith, W. S. Lafferty, Wm. Lammers, Sr., Jacob Miller, E. M. Starrett and S. V. Poach, voted in the affirmative and motion was declared Carried. Third Reading, The City Clerk thereupon road the said ordinance by title only for the third reading. The following in a full, true and correct Dopy of said Ordinance No. dD06, as passed by the City Council Febrpary 17, 1931; approved by the Mayor February 172 1931, amid published in the Port Townsend Leader February 19, 1931, to -wits ORDINANCE 110. 1006. AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Townsend fixing the denominations and interest rate of the bonds provided for in Ordinance No. 997 of said City; determining the various annual maturities and interest payments and specifying the form thereof. WHEREAS, under Ordinance No. 997 of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, passed by the City Council on the 2nd day of September, 1930, and approved by the Mayor on the 4th day of September, 19SO, there was submitted to the qualified voters of the City of Port Townsend the question or proposition of authorizing the City of Port Townsend to become indebted in the aum of $49,000.00, for the purpose of making certain pub- lic improvements as provided in said ordinance, and providing for the issuance and sale of negotiable inter- est -bearing general indebtedness coupon bonds of said city, and VGiEREAS, said proposition to become indebted was truly authorized and ratified by the qualified voters of said city at an election held for that purpose, and WHEREAS, a bid for said bonds has been received and accepted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The denominations of the "Port Tomneend General Indebtedness 1931 Water Bonds" provided for in Ordinance No. 997 of said city shall be in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars (0500.00) each; shall be num- bered aerially from one to ninety-eight Consecutively; and shall boar interest from date at the rate of four and three-quarters (4-3/4) per cent per annum, interest payable annually. All of said bonds shall be dated as of January let, 1931, and shall mature as follows, Two bonds - two years after dotal two bonds - three years after date; two bonds - four years after data; throe bonds - five years after dotal three bonds - six years after data; throe bonds - seven years after date; throe bonds - eight years after data; throe bonds - nine years after date; throe bonds - ton years after dotal three bonds - eleven years after date; Your bonds twelve years after data; four bonds - thirteen years after datol four bonds - fourteen years after data; fow bonds - fifteen years after date; four bonds - sixteen years after date; five bonds - seventeen years after dotal five bonds - eighteen years after data; five bonds - nineteen years after date; five bonds - twenty �I years after date; five bonds - twenty-one years after data; six bonds - twenty-two years after data; six ban - twenty-three years after date; seven bonds - twenty -Tour years after date; seven bonds - twenty-five years it after date. Both principal and interest of this bond are payable in gold Coln of the United States of America of the present standard weight and fine- ness, at the Fiscal. For the prompt payment hereof, both principal and interest, as the same may mature, the full faith, credit and resources of the City of Port Townsend are hereby irrevocably pledged. This bond is one of the sreies issued by the City of Port Townsend under the authority of, and in full compliance with, the Laws and Constitution of the State of Washington, for the purpose of providing funds for the making of certain additions and betterments to, and extensions of, the municipal wator-works system of the said City of Port Townsend, as specified and provided by Ordinance No. 997 of said city, and which expenditure has boon ratified and confirmed by a vote of the electors of said city at an election hold on the 4th day of November, 1930. It is hereby certified and recited that all sots, conditions and things required to be done precedent to, and in the issuance of this bond have happened, been done and performed as required by law. That provision has been made for the annual levy and collection of the tax upon alltthe taxable property of said city sufficient to pay the principal and interest of this bond as the same may mature and accrue; and that the total indebtedness of the City of Port Townsend, including this bond, does not exceed any constitutional or statutory limitation. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said City of Port Townsend, by authority of its City Council, has caused this bond to be sealed with its seal, signed by its Mayorand attested by its City Clerk, and has caused the oou- pons annexed thereto to be signed with a facsimile of the signatures of said officers, all as of the first day of January, 1931. Section 4. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader and to take effect and be in force five days after such publication. Blaine Street Work. Councilmen Lafferty brought up the matter of certain work on Blaine Street but same was laid over for the present. RECESS VOTED. Conniff at al, and re- ferred to the Council, -as a Committee on the Whole, the said committee submitted the following written reports To the Honorable Mayor and City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington. That We, the undersigned members of the City Council, herewith report on the claims of A. L. Greene, Joseph H. Johnston and Wm. J. Conniff, individually, for damages against the City, as eat forth in each of said Claims, filed with the City Clerk and submitted to the City Council, and which said claims were refer- red to a Committee of the Whole of said city council, for consideration and report, do hereby recommend that
