To the Honorable Mayor and City Council of Port Townsend,
Jefferson County, Washington, -
A. L. Greene, claimant, hereby presents and files his claim for damages against the City of Port Town-
send, Washington, for personal injuries received by him, caused by a defeat in Water Street in said city,
said defect being a hole or depression in said etrootj said hole or depression being approximately nix in-
ches deep, five feet wide and fifty feet in length; said hole or depression starting at a point approximate-
ly sixty feet east oftheeast side of Polk Street, where the same intersects with said Water Street, and
said hole or depression being in the middle of said Water Street between said railroad tracks in front of
the vacant lot MoGee's garage and Oil Station and the Strathie Iron Works Buildings end said hole or depros-
eion in said street being the first unplanked portion between daid railroad tracks on Water Street on the
way out of Port Townsend, on said Water Street, towards Port Angeles, Washington.
The injuries received by said claimant consist of a deep gash in hie forehead about five inches in
length, and severe and coop bruises to olaimant's head, chest, body, arms and legs, together with internal
and body bruises and a severe shook to his nervous sys
tem.
That said injury occurred on Sunday, the 28th day of December, 1930, at approximately 8:45 o'clock P.M,
The residence df:thbi-claimant for the six months last past was and now is Greene Hotel, Sequim, Washington.

Joseph H. Johnston, claimant, hereby presemts and files his claim for damages against the city of Port
townsend, Washington,.for personal injuries received by him, caused by a defect in Water Street in said city;
said defect being a hole or depression in said street between the railroad tracks which run down the middle
of said street; said hole or depression being approximately six inches deep, five feet wide and fifty feet
in length; said hole or depression starting at a point approximately sixty feet east of the east side of Poll
Street, where the same intersects with said Water Street, and said hole or depression being in the middle of
said Water Street between said railroad tracks in front of the vacant lot between McGee's Garage and Oil Sta-
tion and the Strathie Iron Works building; and said hole or depression in said street being the first un-
planked portion between said railroad tracks on Water Street on the way out of Port Townsend, on said Water
Street, towards Port Angeles, Washington.
The injuries received by said claimant consist of sevoro and deep bruises on the back and other ports
of the body, and a severe shook to his nervous system.
Thnt said injury occurred on Sunday, the 28th day of December, 1930, at approximately 8145 o'clock P.M.
The residence of the claimant for the six months lest past was and now is 635 East Georgians Street, Port
Angeles, Washington. The olsimant itemizes and claims damages as followes

send, Washington, for personal injuries received by him and for injuries to his 1930 Hudson Six Cylinder Se- a
dan, caused by a defeat in Water Street in said city; said defect being a hole or depression in said street
between the railroad tracks which run down the middle of said street; said hole or depression being approx-
imately six inches deep, five feet wide and fifty feet in lengths said hole or depression starting at a point i{
approximately sixty feet east of the east side of Polk Street, where the same intersects with said Water ,
Street, and said hole or depression being in the middle of said Water Street between said railroad tracks, in '

It was moved by Councilman Starrett and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the said claims be referred d
to the City Council as a whole, to the Mayor, and the City Attorney, to report at the regular session of Feb. '
17th and that the City Clerk be instructed to notify Mr. Wm. J. Conniff, Attorney who presented these claims,
