January 3rd, 1931.
{7r, Honorable Mayor and City Council, '
i '4rs•;-,. Port Townsend, Washington.
Gentlemen:
Last month we filed with the U.S. General Land Office the application for a permanent right of way
through the Olympic National Forest. To prepare this application has taken more time than we intended but
it required the services of several men employed on this job which were engaged elsewhere and could not be
released for the lopgth of time required to compile and finish the information required by the Land Office.
I We believe that this application concluded the services to be renderod by our firm under our con-
' o tract and we are enclosing herewith out bill Tor the balance due us which we have left in your hands until
macz•,.c7rij-"f"'.7our work was completed.
'•"`'' psi It is understood of course that we -will handle any further negotiations with the General Land Office
in connection with securing this right of way without any further coat to the City. We presume however that
a; " .,7;- the right of way will be granted to you in due course of time without requiring further services from us.
We desire to thank you at this time for the many courtesies extended to us and if you will be kind
S1 enough to advise us what disposition you wish us to make of the records, whether they are to be transmitted
` •'-i;...' to you or to be kept in our office, we will meet your request forthwith. As we have explained in our letter
to Mr. Christian sometime ago, you may preserve these records in our office without any cost and they are sub-
'w,`,5.. jeotto your call at any time.
Very truly yours,
` JOB/EC HAAR AND CUNNINGHAM,
