Port Townsend, Washington, October 6, 1930.
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, met in statutory session for considerati,
of the annual budget for 1931 this 6th day of October, 1930, at 7 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City
Hall. Mayor George Bangerter presiding.
ROLL CALL
Upon roll call there were present Mayor George Bangerter, City Clerk C. F. Christian and Councilmen
Harry W. Robbins, S. V. Peach, W. S. Lafferty and Wm. Lammers.
-CONSIDERATION OF FINAL BUDGET
The budget for the year 1931 now came on for hearing. It was unanimously agreed by all the mem-
bers present that all changes agreed upon should be embodied in one motion. The budget wan then taken up in
detail and the' following deductions or amendments rare made:
Items under Currant Expense Fund were reduced asfollansi
Mayor and City Council, -
Advertisingand publishing was reduced from $200.00 to $160.00.
Sundry k Mises.
Was reduced from 0100.00 to $50.00.
Cost of New Issue of Bonder
Was reduced from $500.00 to 0300.00.
City Treasurer's Department,
.Clerk Hire was reduced from $75.00 to $50.00.
City Engineer's Departments Department,
Wages - Head Chainman was reduced from 4250.00 to $200:00.
Wages - Rear Chainman was reduced from $200.00 to $150.00.
Car Hire wan reduced from $75.00 to $50.00.
City Hall Department,
Sundry and Misc. was reduced from $50.00 to $25.00.
Police Department;
Wages - Special Police was reduced from $100.00 to 075.00.
Fire Departments
Insurance on fire apparatus was reduced from $200.00 to $175.00.
Health Department,
Supplies and Misc. was reduced from $50.00 to $25.00.
Street Departments
Purchase of property for streets was reduced from $200.00 to $150.00.
Bond Interest Fund -Second Issue of Bondes
Was reduced from $1250.00 to $1078.99 and the levy from 14 milla to 1 mill.
It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Peach to adopt the entire budget as
gad and amended. Upon roll call all four Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was de-
ed carried.

It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Lafferty to adjourn this hearing unt:
Tuesday evening, October 7th, and that the City Attorney and the City Clerk be instructed to prepare
once covering the budget and the tax levy to be presented to the City Council at its regular session of
bar 7th. Motion declared carried.
Upon motion of Councilman Peach, seconded by Councilman Robbins, Council adjourned.
