Mayor Bangerter stated that the matter was now open for hearing and asked if anyone desired to be
heard for or against the said petition. None boing offered at this time no further action was taken.
Later in the session Councilman W. B. Smith stated that he was opposed in principle to any further street
vacations because of the citie's probable requirements in the future.
Location of Fire Hydrant:
Referring back to the petition for the location of a fire hydrant in the vicinity of Bracken's
Addition,after some discussion by the Council the matter of the location of additional fire hydrants was
referred to the Chief of Fire Department for investigation and report.
ADJOURNMENT
Upon motion of Councilman Robbins, ascended by Councilman Smith, Council adjourned.

The minutes of the regular session of August Bth were read and approved as read.
KELLERIN PRESENTS TEAL CLAIM
At this time City Attorney James W. B. Scott advised the Council that a Mr. Teal had filed suit
against the City for compensation for right of way taken for pipe line of the City Water Works, and that his
attorney, Mr. Kellerin, who was present desired to make connection with the last boat for Seattle and re-
commended that Mr. Kellerin be heard at this time. Permission being given Mr. Kellerin stated that after e::.
conference with City Attorney Scott and Mr. Daly he believed that an adjustment could be made without trial,
as he was satisfied after an examination of the records that hie client claimed more than the actual value.
After a further statement by City Attorney Scott the matter was referred to the Water Committee and the Fi-
nance Committee.

I would like at this time to express any sincore appreciation of the splendid service rendered
to our city by our Volunteer Fire Department.
The Fire Chief, Officers, and men made great sacrifices in their efforts to save our city fro
the fire menace, and wish at this time to go on record as appreciating their efforts on our behalf.
I would like also to recommend that a survey of the city as to the fire hydrants necessary
for the proper handling of fires.
I would recommend that several fire hydrants be purchased and placed in suitable places de-

signated bythe Fire.. Chief, and Water Supt. would suggest amongst those places, would be, one for Dundee Hill
Mr. Mrs. Furlong and one at the Fort hill near Mrs. Sherlooks residences.
