To the Mayor and City Council Gentleman: Attached is a letter received from Mr. If. N. Simpson, Resident Engineer, National Paper Products Company, regarding a road to the pipe line for the use of the patrolman and taking in material for repairs. At the present time, they are using the old Beck Railroad grade. The first part of this road traverses the property of Kra. Charles Bock and it eosmn that they are having some difficulty in using this particular portion of it. The balance of the road is over land which hoe gone back to the County for taxes i i This road is essential for the maintenance of the line. The City Council could possibly have the County Commissioners establish this as a County road with the exception of that portion mined by Mrs. Bock. j The balance could be fixed up so that it could be used for a nominal eum. This road, which is the shortestway the non have to got Qin, is for at least the first part a private rend - traversing the property of ht•o. Charles Beck, Box 22, dreN• q t5 i Qvilcone, Wash. The remainder of the rend beyond this person's property is apparently on lend owned by the ' County or returned to the County for non-payment of taxes. rv LP Above this private road there is supposed to exist n right oAv¢y for ¢County road, which if it did not go all the way up to the pipe line would go a major part. The remaining distance could be a part of the road being used at the present time. Since it is essential that the patrolmen have some means of access to the lino, and in case of emergency a way to bring up material, we ask that you, as reprocentative of the City of Port Townsend, take this matter up with the proper County Officials and either establish the right to make use of the present road or perhaps have the County open up another right of way.
