Referring to your letter of July 12th in reference to our claims for ,amounts due from the a-
bove contractors for materials furnished, we would appreciate very much your writing us what action
the City Council took on our claims at their regular meeting July 15th.
As we have not received any money from the above contractors on our pipe we are beginning to
get considerably worried about this account and would appreciate very much your advising us fully
so that we may know that our claims are fully protected.

Port Townsend on which has been indicated the streets forming a part of the State Highway system
within the corporate limits of your city.
This map is being furnished you for your reference in making up your certificate of mainte-
nance and improvement expenditures of State funds on such streets, as provided by Chapter 163, Ses-
sion Laws of 1929.

Port Townsend, Washington, franchise granted to Natural Gas Corporation of Washington by Ordinance
of the City of Port 'Townsend, Washington, on June 17, 1930.
The Attached Acceptance of Franchise supersedes the original Acceptance of Franchise now
in your hands, which we would ask you to kindly return to our office, Room 304, Standard Oil Buil-
ding. 225 Bush Street, Son Francisco, California.

Dear Sirs: -
The undersigned petitions your Honorable Body to grant me the privilege of laying water
pipe to my home across the land of Mr. Witte, he having given me permission to do so. At the
cost of $60.00, I am paying for all pipe and labor the same to be returned to me in water. I
agree to use that amount in 18 months.

Cortified Valuations from Assessor.
The City Clerk presented a certified copy of the real and personal property valuations for the
year 1930, from the County Assessor, which was ordered filed.
REQUISITIONS.
Requisitions for supplies were presented, read, and disposed of as follows:
For the Park Department, to wit:

500 second sheets for carbon copies.
It was moved by Councilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Peach that the said requisitions
be granted. Motion declared carried.

18 Mill Resolution for Current Expense Fund.
A resolution to fix the levy for the Current Expense Fund of the City for 1931, was presented
and read as follows, to -wit:
RESOLUTION.
A resolution to fix the Levy for the Current Expense Fund for the year 1931.
RESOLVED by the City Council of tho City of Port Townsend, Washington, that a levy of eighteen
(18) mills be made and levied upon and collected from all taxable property within the said City, on
the assessed valuation for the year 1930, for the Current Expense of said City for the year 1931.
Dated July 29, 1930. ;: It •as moved by Councilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Peach that the said resolution be
adopted. Upon roll call, all seven Councilmen voted in the affirmative and motion was declared car
ried and the resolution adopted. It then received the approval of Mayor Bangerter.
UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS.
Councilman Richards reported that an extension of the water pipe in the t!unicipal Golf Club
grounds had been laid to the ball grounds at no cost to the City and that the ball grounds now had
a water supply.

The matter of bonding the City to raise funds to complete the Water Street leg of the Big Quil-

s pp y .ine .as now takben up for discussion,and City Attorney Scott read the State stat-
utes pertaining to such a bonding proposition, and further that the Council should come to an agree-
ment as to the term the bonds should run and also the exact routing of the pipe line so that it coul
all be embodied in the proposed Ordinance authorizing the proposed bond issue and improvements.
