Christi An, City Clerk, Port Townsend, Wash., My Bear Mr. Christian: I am in receipt of your letter of the 12th inst. requesting certain blue prints and right-of-way information which we shallbe glad to furnish you. These drawings are in Everett and I am asking our Everett office to send you the prints. I We have just about completed the filing map for right-of-way through the Olympic National Forest and also the necessary field notes. This has been an almost interminable job and we are nonsending the drawing to San Francisco to be reproduced. I expect very shortly to submittthis information to you for official execution and expect to be in Port Townsend in the near future. Acceptance of Gas Franchise by Natural Gas Corporation of Wash. Communication from the Natural Gas Corporation of Washington, transmitting their acceptance of the franchise granted to then under Ordinance No. 994, was presented and read as follows, to -wit Mr. C. F. Christian, City Clerk, Hotal Frye, Seattle, Washington, July 14, 1930. Port Townsend, Washington. Dear Sir: - I am enclosing herewith Acceptance of Franchise in duplicate. Will you kindly acknowl- edge receipt of this, and oblige, Yours very truly, Form of Acceptance: H. W. Burkhart. The formal letter of acceptance was as follows, to -wit: BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND STATE OF WASHINGTON. In the Matter of the franchise of the City of Port Townsend granting to ) NATURAL GAS CORPORATION OF WASHINGTON, a right, privilege, and franchise ate.) ACCEPTANCE OF FRANCHISE. NATURAL GAS.CORPORATION OF W'ASHINGTON hereby accepts that franchise granted by•Ordinanee of the City of Port Townsend, State of Washington, on the 17th day of June, 19300 granting to them and their successors or assigns, the right, privilege and franchise to lay and construct and to thereafter operate, maintain, repair and/or replace a system of conduits and pipelines, together with such fixtures and appurtenances as the grantee, its successors or assigns, may deem necessary or convenient therewith, in, under, along or across all public streets, highways and/or alleys of said City of Port Townsend, for the purpose of transmitting and/or distributing gas to the public for light, heat, fuel, power or any other lawful purposes for a term of fifty (50) years. Port Townsend, Wash., July 29, 1930 REGULAR SESSION. w The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Wash., met in regular session this 29th day of July, 1930, at 8 P.A;., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Mayor George Bangerter presiding. ROLL CALL Upon Roll Call, there were present Mayor Geo. Bangerter, City Clerk C. F. Christian, City Atty Jas. W. B. Scott and all seven Councilmen, to -wit: Wm. Lammers Sr., Jacob Miller, Harry W. Robbins, Clark Aldrich, S. V: Peach, W. B. Smith and R. E. Richards. Water Superintendent. Monthly Report: The report of the Watersuperintendent for, the month of June, 1930, was presented, read and re- ferred to the Water Committee. City Engineer. Main Line Meter Readings. The City Engineer presented reports of the flow of water through the main line meters for the past two weeks and scone -were ordered filed. City Attorney. M,cCullem Case. City Attorney Scott reported that the Court had dismissed the suit of P. J. McCullem, and wife, against the City, for damages, and further that their attorney had filed a motion'for a new trial, which woywid be heard soon. BUILDING PERMITS. Applications for Building Permits were presented, read, and disposed of as follows: Frosi T. D. Miller, to -wit: Port Townsend, Wash., July 18, 1930 To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Port Townsend, Wash. Gentlemen: Permission is requested to make a few geAeral repairs to the outbuildings at my residence 843 Taylor Street. Cost is estimated at $15.60. Respectfully submitted, T. D. Miller. From F. IV.
