REQUISITIONS Requisitions for supplies were presented, read and disposed of as follows For the Street Department: 2 L. H. Shovels Overhaul Grader Engine For City Clerk Department: Repairs to Window shades Type Cleaner for Typewriter For City Water Department: 1 wrench for taking hydrants apart 1 lantern 3 doz. ]estiher valves for hydrants 12 C rubber "ft It was moved by Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilman Poach that said requisitions be granted. Upon roll call all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was de- clared carried. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS National Paper Products Co. Resolution: A resolution prosented by Councilman Peach was read, as follows: R E S 0 L U'T I 0 N. To whom it may concern: In view of the fact that'the National Paper Products Company, in order to assure themselves of a continuous water supply has found it necessary to agree to reimburso the Charles R. McCormich Lum- ber Company for the additional logging costs incidental to using special caution in logging about and across the Big Quiloene Pipe line. And whereas: by so agreeing to stand this extra expense the National Paper Products Companynot only assurred themselves of a continuous water supply, but also assured the City of Port Townsend of a continuous supply of potable water - And Whereas: It is not possible for the City of Port Townsend at this time to re- imburso the National 'Paper Products Company for any share of this un- for -seen expenso. Now therefore be it resolved that it be the sense of the City Council that at such time aa%the funds of the City Water department become in such a condition that the Bondholders are amply protected and the City Water'Department has sufficient funds to do so, that the National Paper Products Com- pany should be reimbursed for some share of this expense. And be it further resolved that the Mayor and City Clerk be hereby authorized to sign this resolution and that a copy be spread on the minutes and that another copy be mailed to the National Paper Pro- ducts Company. Said resolution vise referred to the Water Committee and the City Attorney. NEW BUSINESS Insurance on Fire Truck% The City Clark reported that he had finally secured insurance on the now Mack Fire Truck with the National Liberty Insurance Co. The premium of same being $158.20. It was moved by Council- man Peach and seconded by Councilman Robbins that said policy be approved and accepted. Upon roll call all six Councilman present voted in favor thereof, and motion was declared carried. fl, Water Proposals: The City Clerk reported receipt of forms for proposals to furnish water to Coast Guard Section, Base 10, and for such naval vessels as may call at this port, and it was moved by Councilman � o _.-..�,._�...� ._.._..._._.�..,. �_r....� ._____. _ .... _ .. __...-, .�_ 0 4715 Minutes of May 6, 1930, continued. Robbins and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to submit such proposals at the regular 'rates. Motion declared carried. RECESS It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Pe'aoh that Council recess for fifteen minutes. Motion carried and recess declared. COUNCIL RECONVENES The City Council reconvened at 9:30 P. M., and upon 'roll call there were present Mayor George Bangerter, City Clerk C. Fe Christian, City Attorney James W. B. Scott and Councilmen Miller, Robbins, Peach, Smith, Richards and Lammers. WATER RATE FOR GOLF COURSE Bringing up the matter of water rate for the Municipal Golf Course, it was moved by Coun- cilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Miller that for the purpose of making water rates each green An the golf course be considered as -one lot. Upon roll call Councilmen Miller, Robbins, Poach Richards and Lammers voted in the affirmative and Councilman Smith in the negative. Motion declared carried. PORTiOF ENTRY FOR AIRPLANES Mr. E. Morris Starrett presented a petition asking that the City of Port Townsend be made a port of entry for airplanes. After the petition had been signed by all of the officers and Coun- cilmen present, it was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Smith that said peti- tion receive the approval of the City Council. Motion declared carried. TO COMPLETE PIPE LINE The matter of completing the water supply line from the city limitec to the reservoir and after some discussion the matter was referred to the Water Committee, The City Engineer., the City Attorney and, the City Clerk to bring in a report at the next session as to how and when the said pipe line can be financed and built. Extention for Jones & Crouton: Bringing up the request of Jones & Crouton for an extention of time, it was moved by Councilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Robbins that Jones & Crouten,, contractors, be granted an extention of 10 days for completion for completion of their contract for Water Street Improva- ments.
