DeLeo Said petition was referred to the Street Committee, the City Attorney and the City Engines REQUISITIONS Requisitions for supplies were presented,anead and disposed of as follows: For the City Water Department, to -wit: Legal size Envelope to be printed 24 Receipt books to be printed for-Hadlock-Irondale Pencils Pen Points Ink Paste 500 Yellow copy sheets 1 3" Gate Valve 1 6" Sleeve for water pipe For Police Department, to -wit: Canvas enough for 4 bunks for city jail. I would like to buy canvas from the paper company, they ask six cents a lb. for it. For Engineer'a Department, to -wit: 300 - Envelopes 50 - 2¢ stamps For City Hall Department, to -wit: 20 Cords wood Roy Seavey It was moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the said requisi- tions be granted. Upon roll call all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Advertise for 'flood: 'It was then moved by Councilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Peach that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for 20 cords of wood, with the usual specifications. Moti declared carried. RECESS tIt was moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Councilman Robbins that the Council re- oess for fifteen minutes. Motion carried and recess was declared. — 1p�,ar fu. Minutes of April 1. 1930: ,00ntinued I i f � yy�fiti � i nG•' COUNCIL RECONVENES Roll Call: Council reconvened at 9:30 P. M., and upon roll call there were present Mayor George Ban- gerter, City Clerk C. F. Chriatian,'City Attorney James. W. B.-Scott and Councilmen Richards, Lam- mers, Miller, Robbins, Peach and Smith. Moving Railroad Track: After some discussion relative to moving the railroad track on Water Street, it was moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the Mayor communicate with Mr. Stolten- berg, official of the railroadcompany, with a view to having the track moved as requested by the Highway Department. Motion declared carried. Insurance on Truck: Taking up the matter of insurance on the Fire Truck, it was moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Councilman Richards that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to place insurance on the Mack Fire Truck with the National Liberty Insurance Company, upon the terms gabted in their letter. Motion carried. Sohueler Claim rejected: '' Taking up the claim'of Dr. Sohueler for damages, it was moved by Councilman Smith and se- conded by Councilman Peach, that-Drt Sohueler be notified that his claim had been rejected. Motion declared carried. Conference with Lowensteins It was moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Councilman Smith that the City Clerk be instructed to write Mr. Lowenstein of the National Paper Products Company inviting him to meet with the City Council. Financing Water Systems After some discussion relative to financing a renewal of the water distribution system, it was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Peach that the Mayor and the City Attorney be authorized to consult with Mr. Sims and. Mr. Northup, our representatives in the legis- lature, with a view to obtaining a relief from the conditions imposed by the state constitution. Map for Through Streets: City Engineer Sadler reported that he had prepared a map for designating through streets as instructed by the Council. New Hydrants; Relative to the recent inspection of hydrants, it was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Smith, :that two new standard hydrants be added to the requisition presented by the Water Department, and that the aaid requisition be granted. Upon roll call all six Council- men present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Install New Street Lighting: It was moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Councilman Robbins that the City Clerk be instructed to notify the Puget Sound Power h Light Company to install a new street light at the corner of the Lowenstein property on Morgan Hill. Upon roll call all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. ADJOURNMENT Upon motion of Councilman Robbins, seconded by Councilman Peach, Council adjourned.
