WHEREAS, the necessity therefor could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the
classification and adoption of the budget for said fund for said year 1930, and that an emergency
now exists for the appropriation and expenditure'of the following gum of money, to -wit: $500.00,
upon the Olumpic Gravity Water Fund of said City, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, do ordain as Follows:
Section 1 - That an emergency is hereby declared for the appropriation of the sum of $500.00 as
estimated and hereinafter classified and itemized as follows:
FOR THE CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE AND COURT EXPENSE.
Associate counsel as per mitten contract ..................:....:......:.:....$ 260.00
Court Costs and costs of preliminary examination :.:::.:: a ......4.....I..... 100.00
Stenographer and reporter ...: ............... ................................. 150.00
Section 2 - That the above sums are hereby appropriated for'such purposes and emergency warrant
upon the Olympic Gravity Water Fund are hereby authorized to be drawn against said items.
Section 3 - That this Ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader, to take effect
and be in force five days from and after such publication.

Council reconvened at 10e30 P. M. and upon roll call there were present Mayor George Ban-
gerter, City Clerk C. F. Christian, City Attorney'James'W. B.' Scott* and'Counoilmen W. B. Smith,
R. E. Richards, William Lammers, Jacob )hiller, Harry'W. Robbins and Clark Aldrich. Councilman Peach
being absent.
UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS
Fire Truck Insurance:
Relative to the new -proposal to insure the Mack Fire Truck it was moved by Councilman
Robbins and seconded by Councilman Richards that the City Clerk be instructed to examine and compare
the new policy submitted with the old policy and if found to be similar to notify the eompany`of the
acceptance of the new policy. Motion declared carried.
Gas Company Franchise:
In relation to the application for a gas plant franchise, the City Clerk was directed to
acknowledge receipt of the said application and to advise the petitioners of the regular meeting
dates of the City Council.
Mav for Arterial Streets.
Mayor Bangerter requested the City Engineer to draw up a map of the City for designating
certain streets as through and arterial streets. It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by
Councilman Smith that the Mayor's request be granted. Motion declared carried.
To Test Fire Hydrants:
Mayor Bangerter requested that the Chairman of the Water Committee and the Chairman of the
Fire Committee instruct tyro men from each department -to test all hydrants. The Chief of the Fire
Department and the Water Superintendent to be two of the men to be chosen for the, work.

The City Council of the City of Port Townsend met in regular session this lat day of
April, 1930, at 7:30 P. M. in the council chamber of the City Hall, Mayor Bangerter presiding.

It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman

declared carried.
