The City Council of the City of Port Townsend"met in regular"session this 18th day of
March, 1930, at 7:30 P. Me Councilman William Lammers, Mayor Pro -tam, presiding.
ROLL CALL
Upon roll call there were present City•Clerk C. F. Christian, City Attorney James W. B.
Scott and Councilmen W. Be Smith, Re E. Richards; William Lammers and Jaoob'Miller. Councilmen
Harry We Robbins and Clark Aldrich arrived during reading of the minutes.
MINUTES READ AND APPROVEDZ.
The minutes of the regular session of March 4th''were read and approved as read.
BILLS AND CLAIMS
Dr. L. A. Sohueler presented a claim against the City, as follows, to -wit:
THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON:
L. A. Sohueler presents this claim against the City -of Port Townsend for an accident to his
automobile which occured as follows:
On or about 12:45 a.m. of February 22, 1930, the claimant was driving his Viking automobile
easterly on "F" street in the City of Port Townsend, Jefferson County, Washington, and at a point
just a few feet south of the intersection of Oak Street and said "F" Street in"said city his auto-
mobile ran into, against and over a huge boulder of approximately one and one-half feet in height
and two feet in width, lying in the commonly used track of said "F" Street.
That the contact with said boulder badly damaged claimant's car, necessitating repairs costing
the sum of Sixty -Eight and 65/100 ($68.65) Dollars.
That claimant has been a resident of Port Townsend, in Jefferson County, Washington, for more
than six (6) months last past, and ereby claims +hat he should be reimbursed by the City of Port
Townsend in the sum of Sixty -Eight and 65/100 ($68.65) Dollars.

L. A. Sohueler, being first duly 'sworn, deposes and says: That he is the above named claimant;
that the foregoing claim amounting to $68.65 is just, true, and correct and claimant believes he
is justly entitled to be reimbursed by the City•of Port Townsend for said sum. That he has read
the foregoing claim, knows the oontents'thereof, and believes the same to be true.

Said claim was referred to the Finance Committee, the Street Committee and the Street

The report of the City Treasurer for the month of February was presented, read and referr4
to the Finance Committee.
Water Superintendent's Report:
The report of the Superintendent of the Water Department for the month of February was
presented, read and referred to the Water Committee.
Engineer's Reports:
Meter Readings:
The City Engineer submitted reports of the meter readings of the main line meters showing
the flow to be normal for the week ending March 17th. Said reports were ordered filed.
Lohman-Yep Suey Report:
In accordance with instructions the City Engineer submitted the following report in re-
gard to the vacation of the Yap Suey Addition, to -wit:

In regard to the, vacation of the Yap Suey Addition, I find that the whole of this plat
has been vacated with the exception.of.Hastings Avenue.
The description of the'land covered by Yap Suey Addition, from Sheriff's Deed to Landes

Estate Company dated July 18, 1899 and. recorded in volume 48 of Deeds,. page 409.
Beginning,at a point on'the'section'line•betw?een sections'3'and 4, in Township 30, North,
Range 1 West and.1216 feet, distant from the corner to sections 3, 4, 9 and 10 of said Township,
thence running North along said section line 1424 feet; thence East 1062 feet, more or less, to the

Harding -Lohman Question:

Councilman Robbins reported that Mr. Harding and Lohman had reached a tentative agreement
to exchange property which would give Mr. Harding an outlet to Hastings Avenue.
Bangerter Arrives:

Mayor. Bangerter arrived at, this time and took his chair and thereafter- presided.
Scott reports on McCullem Case:
The City Attorney, James We Be Scott, reported that the City had made appearance as.De-
fendant in each of the McCullem cases. in the Superior Court.
BUILDING PERMITS
Applications for building permits were presented, read and disposed of as follows:
