PEACH It was moved by Councilman Smith and -seconded by Councilman Lammers that the said claim be allowed and the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to draw a warrant upon the proper fund in payment of same. Upon roll call all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and the motion was declared carried. ORDINANCES Proposed Emergency Ordinance: follows: A proposed emergency ordinance was introduced and read in full for the first reading as ORDINANCE NO: 'AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, providing for the appropriation of money from the Olympic Gravity Water Fund of said City for the uses and purposes heroin set forth, classi- fying the proposed expenditure and providing an emergency. WHEREAS, there is now pending in the Superior Court of the State of Washington for Jefferson County, two suits at law wherein P. J. MaCullem and Marie MaCullem, his wife, are plaintiffs and the City of Port Townsend and Ben Green, defendants, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend has contracted with the law firm of Roberts, Skeel and Holman to act as associate counsel with the City Attorney in defense of said suits, and WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that such proposed expenditure is a proper oharge'again the Olympic -Gravity Water Fund, the fund by which the City of Port Townsend operates in itage capacity, and s pr WHEREAS, the necessity therefor could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the classifi- cation and adoption of the budget for said fund for said year 1930,.and that an emergency now exists for the appropriation and expenditure of the following fum of money, to -wit: 0500.00, upon the Olympic Grhvity.iWater Fund of said City, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, do ordain as Follows: Section 1 - That an emergency is hereby declared for the appropriation of the apm of 3500.00 as estimated and hereinafter classified and itemized as follows: FOR THE CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE AND COURT EXPENSE. UNFINISHED ANDINEW BUSINESS 16" Cast Iron Pipe to be installed: Taking the recommendation of the City Engineer that a 16" oast iron pipe being laid under the State Highway, it was moved by Councilman Lammers and seconded.by Councilman Smith that the sail 16" cast iron pipe be installed under the highway. as recommended. The installation to be made by the'City Water Department under the supervision of the City Engineer. Upon roll call all six Coun- cilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. A Abstract for Harding-I;obman Property! Taking up the matter of a road outlet for Mr. Harding it was moved by,Counoilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Richards that.the firm of S. W. Peach h Son be employed to furnish the. city with an abstract of the Yap Suey and J. J. Lohman properties. Upon roll call all six council- men present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. ADJOURNMENT Upon motion of Councilman Robbins seconded by Councilman Smith, Council adjourned.
